The A Team

Post by dANdeLION »

What a show! Action, violence, drama; what else could it need? Anyway, i always have had one small problem with the A Tteam. Why did they put Mr. T on it? Couldn't they find a Mr. A? Or couldn't they call it the T Team?

They hired the same actors who played Stormtroopers to play the bad guys.

I don't remember the golfballs though...

(downer alert!!! If u liked this show skip this post!)
Poor George Peppard--such a good actor--sinking to such depths! Perhaps he thought it was fun, or a challenge, or had to pay off a few gambling debts...I think he would have made a better Sgt. Fury anyway...Mr. T disgusted me-thought it was just plain stupid--but then again I never liked Magnum P.I. either so maybe I'm just weird...

I didn't say it was a good show... just that I liked it ;) Two different things...

Well said. I think it was a pathetic show, but I'd go well out of my way to watch it! It just appealed to my sense of humor; like Monte Python acheived on accident...

On the other hand, it wouldn't have been much point in watching it if not for Mr. T, now would it?

Though Murdock had his moments, too. (BTW, Ylva, did you realize Murdock was the same guy who later played Mr. "Broccoli" Barclay on Star Trek? :) )

I don't remember too much of the actual show except for those two guys. But I remember an odd little anectode. Back when I was about 11 or 12, for some reason a Scottish monk my dad knew from way back came to stay with us for a few days. It turned out that this middle-aged friar was a huge fan of "The A-team". This, taken together with his robes, elevated him to instant cult status among my friends... 8)

Heh. I always hoped Mr. T would forget his line, and in confusion would instead say "Whatchoo talkin' about, Willis?". :screwy:

One more thought: What would the A-Team be like if MacGyver had joined it?

In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help and if you can find them, you can hire the A-Team.

I know that off by heart. the A-Team rules all. :D

I got frustrated that after all those years together, BA was still tricked into drinking the milk every time they had to fly somewhere.

I harely remember the show; I was fairly young, and more of a Macgiver fan.

The one episode I do rememebr had to do with radioactive contamination...murdock drove a bike awith a Baseball card in the spokes, It was supposed to sound like a gyger(sp) counter--and he played the tape back while testing people for contanination.

They weren't worthy of MacGyver's company.

I did enjoy The A-Team for a while during its run. But like danlo, I couldn't stand Mr. T. (no doubt short for "Talentless"). I especially hated him after those promo TV spots that featured The Fonz "morphing" into Mr. T. to represent The A-Team's winning of the ratings war against Happy Days. No way, Mr. T, you will never be as cool as Fonzie.
