My User Name...
I know its a little childish.. but some people have speculated that vain will come back and now there's speculaion that Nom will be back... Who would win, if there battle turned against one another who would win?
I vote Vain... but not after one bad ass battle... and he better hope Nom doesn't bring friends....

uh, Vain's not that tough.
Some Sunbane warped urViles could have unmade him.
The Clave could have destroyed him too.
He's proof against most things that aren't directly used against him like a plain of graveling but a one-on-one with a Sandgorgon?
Nom would beat him into kindling pretty fast, imo.

I'd go Vain, seems to me that only magic and lore hurt him.
Pure brute force doesnt seems to.
EG 3 giants couldnt move him and giants fight sandgorgons.

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.

Vain would win that easily, as long as he didn't just stand around and let Nom get close.....
The Sunbane spawned Coursers knocked him away into mud, so maybe Nom's almost supernatural strength could "rend" him.
Actually I don't think he was damaged by the Coursers either.....
Sorry Nom, I guess it's Vain!
A team-up against a Demondim horde would be fun to watch.......from a safe distance!

Yeah but Nom is natural. His existance was natural. The Ruhks and the Coursers were Unnatural, that's why they had an effect on Vain. The Sunbane spawned Coursers knocked him away into mud, so maybe Nom's almost supernatural strength could "rend" him.
If the Elohim could not harm Vain, there's no way that Nom could--it's too bad TC couldn't have used his one power of Command on Vain to save the Haruchai from him.

My point exactly... Nom may have as much lore in him now as Vain does... although he may not understand it nearly as well... except that he's had a loooong time to figure it out too... He certainly figured out telepathy pretty fast... A lore wise Sandgorgon... imagine the possibilities....

A thought occured to me -- what really happened to Nom - he rent the raver, he took those pieces and consumed them; did this have any effect? long term, is it possible those pieces would change him in some way?
afterward, he could speak to the Haruchai, but had never done so before. Was this a side effect of rending the Raver?
Does Nom now Rave?
edit:
I think Vain could take Nom, but only if he had some incentive; either Commanded or was saving Linden or something. Otherwise, he would likely stand there and take it.

I voted Nom for this reason as well. The rent Raver gives Nom the edge!Xar wrote:Yet we do not know how long did Sandgorgons live before Sandgorgon's Doom was built... and Nom, after rending the Raver, was definitely no longer a "typical" Sandgorgon to begin with.
