Don't just eat ... excercise! (That's always the hard part, ain't it?) You need to convert that food to muscle, not chubble. And take some vitamins, especially calcium and iron.Waddley Hasselhoff wrote:In the last 3 or so months I've broken 100lbs (a gain of about 7 lbs) and it's showing in my stomach (OMG! I have pooch!!), and part of my brain is telling me that that's bad and I need to get rid of it, and it is really tough for me to continue to eat healthy...
.
Double what they said.
Due to years of neglect and bad genes, I've got a gut. The rest of me is in great shape, but I've got about 10-15 pounds I don't want/need around my midsection. I've spent the last month working out llike a machine to get rid of it, and so far it's just resulted in rock-hard abs covered by 10-15 pounds of gut and love handles.
It sucks being frustrated with your body, but remember that you can change it.
-You absolutely have to eat, and eat smart. Whether you're gaining or losing weight, diet is key.
-Regular exercise is super important. 20 minutes of cardio and some sort of core body routine (like on a fitness ball) will do you a world of good to make sure that the weight that you want to put on doesn't sit on your gut. Trust me on this, I'm 6'2" and weighed 140 pounds when I was 21. I was desperate to gain weight. I'm 210 now and I want to lose weight.
-Most importantly, remember that you are not how you look. I could weigh 400 pounds, and it wouldn't change who I am (there'd just be a lot more of me). Whether you're 90 pounds or 150 pounds, you're still Waddley, and I think I speak for the entire Watch (for a change), Waddley's a good person to be.

Wayfriend- I take vitamins every days. Lots. Not too many, but enough to keep me going when I don't eat healthy enough.
Cail- I hear ya. I'm actually going to start running with my brother. I used to run in high school. I'd like to long distance like I used to do.
Also, Waddley is a good person to be, cause of people like you who are totally awesome to me.
Thank you.

Waddley, I agree with everything that's been said, so I won't repeat it and be tiresome, but I really do urge you to look into some kind of fitness routine. Not only because it'll help your metabolism and muscle tone, but because it'll do wonders for your mood. Any kind of preoccupation is emotionally draining, and one that stops you from eating can be downright dangerous. Doing yoga or pilates could give you something else to focus on, and those endorphins, baby? Sweeeet.Waddley Hasselhoff wrote:Wayfriend- I take vitamins every days. Lots. I'm a little bummed because the company I work for offers yoga on-site for, like, $5 a class. But I work from home so I have to go down to the hipster section and pay through the nose for it. Worth it, though!

I actually paid for a personal trainer at a gym for a while (back when I had a little bit of money) and it WAS wonderful. And then my sessions with her run out. And the gym is really really boring by yourself. So I cancelled my membership, cause I didn't go for over a month.
Anyway, I AM looking into yoga.
I just need something that doesn't bore me. I liked running because my mind would wander and that would entertain me, but if I have to think about my routine and machines and stuff then I get bored. So anyway, yoga... yeah, seems more interesting than a gym... PLUS I can take it at the community collage that I'm trying to get motivated to go to so... yeah. Fitness AND credits. Woot!
Thank you jwan

My spouse LOVES yoga, but I always fall asleep during the final relaxation pose!
I think the essence to a workout is doing stuff you actually like to do. I can do brisk walking, and swimming laps, but I cannot jog or run on those silly machines where I feel like a hamster running and getting nowhere.
If you don't like what you're doing, you'll never keep it up. But if you do, and can use that time for creative thinking, you actually look forward to it and the gain comes without pain!

Hey Waddles! (now there's a misnomer!)
You wanna bulk up, you gotta go for the carbs and protein as well as exercise. (Pooch...hell, baby, you should see my comfortable little pillow! Good thing about MY weight gain is, despite the extra curvy arse, I now have a C-cup for the first time in my life!
At least I'm beginning to resemble the girly in my avatar!)
Quite frankly, I wouldn't bother with those people who 'roll their eyes' at you. If you feel the need to improve your body, it's YOUR choice! And they should encourage you - you don't need negativity when you're trying to accomplish something. It's a sure-fire downer. Ignore the morons and do it for yourself. Just have a goal weight fixed in your mind, do the hard work (ie training and good eating - do NOT succumb to going for the uber-fatty junk foods or you'll end up on the opposite end of the scale - no pun intended!) and YOU will know when you feel best about yourself.
Have you thought of consulting a naturopath? Perhaps they can work out the best combo of vitamins for you. I'm on a Herbalife program at the moment and have lost 3kg in 3 weeks, but its a 16cm all-over fat loss that is more important than the kaygees for me at the moment! The best thing? All those natural herbs/vits make me feel HEALTHY, even though I've replaced two meals a day with their nutrition shakes! THAT is what you want to feel.
good luck lil' sis...
we're all here for ya if you need to vent/chat!

I'm totally bummed at the moment....I offered an opportunity for someone at work to step up and she let me down...because of her lack of responsibility I have a choice to miss either my best friend's bday party or my young cousins bday party....I left work early today cause I wasn't feeling good and left my coworker with a list of things to do to help me out......she agreed. I found out very late tonight she left the office about 5 minutes after I did....I left early to take some Benedryl and rest up. How should I deal with this?
sh*t. not much you can do girlfriend. here's what the best boss i ever had used to say to us when we got overwhelmed and stressed.Lorelei wrote:I'm totally bummed at the moment....I offered an opportunity for someone at work to step up and she let me down...because of her lack of responsibility I have a choice to miss either my best friend's bday party or my young cousins bday party....I left work early today cause I wasn't feeling good and left my coworker with a list of things to do to help me out......she agreed. all you can do is all you can do.
you cannot change what those two other people did. looks like damage control at this point. i've no idea what you're doing or your deadlines or anything. i don't know your postition in relation to these other two and whether or not you have a responsibility to reprimand or what. but truthfully...all you have any control over is you. and all you can do is your best. the task for the task's sake. you've had a rough year. take care of yourSELF. do whatever you have to do to accomplish that.
