Watched a Korean film called R-Point last night. Scared the living sh#t out of me! Videoed it from Film 4 a few days ago - knowing them, they'll have it on again soon if any UKers are interested. Was convinced I was going to have nightmares!
Set during Vietnam war. So it's a bit bizarre that it reminded me of Event Horizon.

I saw Nacho Libre last night, quite funny, nothing special.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

I watched Right At Your Door, at the cinema the other night.
Very good film.

I watched the start of Princess Mononoke about a year ago and it was great, never got rounded to finishing it though.CovenantJr wrote:Just finished Noir and will probably watch Princess Mononoke tomorrow.

Quick reviews: Thumbs up-The Sentinel with Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland and Kim Bassinger. You expect it to copy In the Line of Fire and then you say Murder at 1600 but it starts looking like Conspiracy Theory and goes off nicely on it's own way, David Rashe plays the President
Thumbs down-Don't Come Knocking Sam Shepard doesn't look seedy enough to have lived his supposed lifestyle--you can almost guess the next line or scene. Director's supposed to be acclaimed but it seems very selfindulgent with too many inside jokes. Bunch of cameos but George Kennedy derails that train before it starts. You need a 'Terminator' type Tim Roth to track down a washed up actor??? WHAT!!?? All the other high profile actors don't even appear until you're ready to chitcan the flick. A film that can make even Eva Marie Saint look bad is, well pretty sad...
couldn't get into it-Hoodwinked-heard good reviews from friends (what have my friends been huffing [and puffing
]?) two crappy songs in a row-later!
Spoiler
so it's easy to see why someone wants him dead

Saw The Dirty Sanchez movie the other day, hilarious, disgusting and fun.

Here's a story I saw yesterday about a theater that closed for a couple of weeks rather than showing movies like Jackass 2.

Here's an explanation in an article from the Chicago Tribune. I didn't link this version of the story because they require to register at the site.
Why he didn't schedule some classic old movies, I don't know.
Apparently, the owner grew up in the area, made money in television in Hollywood, and restored this particular theater to what it was like when he was young. This isn't some crusade launched by a G-rated prude. The Lorraine has featured its share of "R" fare, from "Brokeback Mountain" to "Miami Vice." There are plenty of action movies, the better to show off the rippling eight-channel digital sound system, a top-of-the-line feature rarely found even in big cities.
"A purist is too strong a word to describe Greg," said Willis Johnson, head of the Classic Cinema chain, which has restored several old theaters in the Chicago suburbs. "But he really believes in the movie experience and in quality and in presenting something he can be proud of."

I had so little faith in AVP that I boycotted the film when it came out. But if it happens to be on one day when I'm surfing TV, I might still check it out.
Interesting story, Damelon. I can understand how Jackass 2 may not provide the kind of surround sound experience that guy is looking for to show off his theatre.
Watched Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow yesterday to get into the Halloween spirit. I love this movie. Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci are just perfect in it.

Just watched Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Is there a comedy version available because the one I watched failed to make me laugh. Sorry, Adams 'humour just doesn't work with me.
