The album Forgiven, Not Forgotten by the Corrs. That was their first album and it was better than everything that came after it, to a quite insane extent.

Cool, a Matrix connection...I was just listening to the Best of Marilyn Manson. His "Rock Is Dead" is one of my favorite songs off the Matrix soundtrack.

I'm not the biggest fan of MM. . . but he's okay every once in a while. I lean more toward Disturbed, Linkin Park, A Perfect Circle, Mudvayne, sometimes Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, sometimes Korn, Evanescence, Velvet Revolver, and Audio Slave.

To be honest, I'm quite ecclectic, and like just about every genre except country music, and gansta rap. I do like some Eminem, though. I adore classical music, but love heavier stuff too. I love old stuff like Big Band, and more modern stuff like the Doors. I've been told I'm both an enigma and a dichotomy. Take your pick.

But yes, I love the Matrix soundtrack.

Yes, ma'am, the Big Band sound is glorious. I have a CD set of music from the war years of the early '40s. Makes me instantly nostalgic, even though I was never there. Of course, it's just an emotional response to the memory of watching black-and-white wartime movies on TV as a kid.

That's true, a lot of people are quite cruel about the Corrs, but that is actually a nice record. They're nice people too, they stayed in the hotel I worked at once.

I'm listening to Throwing Copper by Live again, it just doesn't get old.

Speaking of the Matrix soundtrack, I've been listening to a bit of Rob Dougan. He made some contributions to the soundtracks of the Matrix films, most notably Clubbed to Death from the first and Furious Angels from the second.

Despite both of those being instrumental on the soundtracks, he usually sings. Furious Angels with vocals is great, though Left Me For Dead might be his best.

Meh - like the movies, the first Matrix OST was excellent, and then they just butchered the next two horribly.

I'm currently listening to Homogenic, by Bjork; (I've never been able to figure out how to do umlauts), inspired by the magnificent video for All Is Full Of Love, by Chris Cunningham.

I agree completely about the nostalgia. . . I have terrible nostalgia for WWII. . . something that even my father doesn't remember that clearly (he was born in 1940). It is so very strange, because the nostalgia is so strong as to feel as though I myself was there. . . particularly when I watch video or see photographs of England during the war.

I also adore swing dancing. What can I say> I have an old soul. . . that is why people find me paradoxical. I love modern things, but am truly drawn to antiques.

Anyway, today I am listening to Evanescence's new cd (released today) The Open Door. It's fantastic. . and worth the 4 year wait.

The new Iron Maiden album, A Matter of Life and Death.

Standout tracks so far seem to be Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, Out of the Shadows and For the Greater Good of God.

It's a more god and war filled album than usual.
