Good lord!

Post by Loredoctor »

I just cant put A Game of Thrones down! I'm at work and I all I want to do is continue reading it.
Spoiler
I've just reached the part where Robert Baratheon has died and the Lannisters have made their move. It was shocking the way Drogo killed Danaerys' brother, and I'm speechless at the betrayal of Eddard (not that I wasn't expecting it).
God, this is great.

It is a brillaint book, although Dany's brother was a bit of an arse.

Enjoy reading them!
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Full of the heavens and time.

He was, and he had it coming. Still liked him, though. If it was a TSR novel, or Eddings, etc., the brother would not doubt have survived.

I envy you your first read of A Game of Thrones.

Back in 1996, I was very disillusioned with epic fantasy. Then I read The Lions of Al-Rassan and A Game of Thrones. Kay and Martin restored my faith in the genre. 8)

I love me some Drogo. I did a little dance when he did away with brother dear. Drogo is, in my opinion, one of the very few completely likable characters. (Not that I don't like the unlikable ones... I have a place in my heart for Cerci, bless her incompetent little soul.)
