We have lots of answers, just not the answers to the "big questions" because then there would be nothing left for the show to do. Once those questions are answered, it's over.
But we did learn quite a bit from the season 2 finale and the season 3 premiere, answers to these questions:
What happens if you don't push the button?
Is the button thing just a psychological hoax?
What caused the plane to break apart?
What caused that light which Locke saw emanating from the hatch (season 1)?
What happened to Desmond's partner?
Why is Desmond suprised that the world is still 'out there?'
What are the others like? Savages? Barefoot jungle people? Or book-club soup chefs?
Is Henry an other? Their leader?
What happened to Michael? Is he going to get Walt back?
Can anyone leave the island?
etc., etc.
We've had lots of questions answered. Those were just from two episodes. Pay attention.

I liked season 3 premier lots and lots more than season 2 finale. I f***ing hated, hated the season 2 finale, thought it was boring waste of time, and it almost put me off watching the premier.
Really, you hated the Finale and thought it was boring? I quite enjoyed it myself.
LOL SylThe guys in the Arctic is dishonest by the writers? I don't see that at all. If they plan on pulling them out later, don't we already have to have a clue about their existence? It's setting up a future plot development. If at the end of S3, Penny pulled up in a rescue boat, wouldn't it be awfully random, if we didn't know she was cued in by the EMP?
There was one good thing the seeming removal of Michael and Walt (IMO, it's no mere coincidence that Walt and Weasley both start with 'W').
Sucky things:
no resolutions of any of the mysteries and no narrative to speak of (Locke arguing with Echo is not a narrative, nor is Jack scheming with Saayid).
Walt and Michael taking the boat (eventhough it's a welcome development concerning my enjoyment of the story overall, it made almost no sense to the story such as any story existed for the episode or the series arc).
The guys at the arctic (seemingly) station, WTF is that all about. Furthermore, that has had no mention in the first three episodes again these writers are messing with us in very dishonest ways.
Overall, many of us have watched this story since its premier and we know no more about why these people are on this island, what is the nature of this island (is it an island?), what is the Dharma project than episode one, season one? NOt SAYING we need all the answers, but we have no answers.

Heh, i couldnt wait, im now watching the episode on the net the day after they are aired in the US.
Watching the 3rd one now.
Watching the 3rd one now.

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

Spoiler
There is a major death coming according to a rumor. I didn't want to know anymore than a death is coming, so I avoided finding out more. I don't want to know who, when or how, until it airs, but, in case anyone wants to look it up for themselves, the information is probably out there.
Heh i cant decide if should read that.
Is that from a future episode or one i will have already seen?

It is from somewhere between tonight, and Ep 6, there are no actual details listed.
Depending how you feel about spoilers, it may not be bad for you. If you're a spoiler prude, don't read it.
If you don't mind hearing somebody does something specific (as long as you aren't told who or how) then it's fine to read.

Spoiler
If that's in response to Kristen from E! clue (Two people close to Sun, in different ways, die), I think Jin may be OK. Colleen was close to Sun when she shot her, and she died. Jae was close to Sun in another way, and he died last week in the flashback. Hopefully, there is no "major" yet, and this Kristen clue goes along with the Ausiello spoiler that someone dies. I agree, I do not want to see Jin die. Really, other than Charlie, I'd really hate to see any of the cast we know and love die, not that I neccessarily want to see Charlie die, but, if I had to choose, he'd be at the top of my list. (as you can see, my best efforts weren't good enough to stay away from getting more info, LOL)
Hmm actually I'm disappointed in this one. Dunno, maybe the cage stuff is getting old. And who in the world watching didn't know that the pace maker was just a head fake?! They'd have to remove/replace a rib for such an operation and thus sawyer wouldn't be moving for days. Maybe he is just a dumb hick after all. *ducks*
Also noticed an odd thing; either a red herring or bad writing. Sawyer was shown that they are on a seperate island from the Main island; the other being within an hours swim away, if that. Makes escape impossible? Would that be so hard for sawyer to get to? I could do that distance doing a back stroke. Anyway, a seperate island. Ok. But then how did the Others who stole that Sailboat (and one get shot...wahoo) get over to the main island in the first place if it's so hard a distance to cross? Another boat? Then why was Ben so damn happy to see the sailboat an ep or two ago that he sent a team to get it? Unless there is an under water passage between the islands then I think that was a bit of bad writing.
But at least is was an episode without Jack crying.
I really do love the show though...

Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

Perhaps the sailboat gives them a view they can't have from land, because the land that has that view is inaccessible for whatever reason (IE: Ben is keeping information from Sayid, before he finds it)Kil Tyme wrote:Hmm actually I'm disappointed in this one. They didnt want sayid or whoever happened to be on the boat to see their village. So they sent the team to take the boat away from them.
