Well, it's time to have someone with a bit more age post on this thread.

In 2013 I will be 66 - my official age to begin receiving social security.

I first read Lord Fouls Bane in the year it was published. Still have the book by the way.

Aging sucks but I have not found a better alternative, yet!

The real question might be, how old will SRD be when the FC are done? And are these REALLY the FINAL Chronicles? I'd have never thought in a zillion years, after the way WGW ended, that SRD would ever write another TC book. So maybe he's not REALLY done with this after the FC's final book is published. What do you guys think? He said he had the ideas for the FC books in his head many years ago. So who's to say he doesn't have OTHER ideas floating around in his genius brain? One can only hope...........

I´ll be 56. If I would wait for the translation into german, I think I´ll be nearly 60 8O (okay, i will not wait  ).

Same as Rocksister I couldn´t imagine any continuation of the chronicles. It is over 20 years ago, when I first read TC. So it doesn´t bother me too much to wait another 7 years :)

Yeah, we're a bunch of old farts.

Haven't read enough in this topic to guess the average age, but the first books were published for the first time in the 70's, right? I was just getting out of high school then (1974). I found out about TCoTC in between marriage and children (a span of eleven years, nothing else to do). Hooked immediately. I know I'll be an old geezer when the "final" book is published a few years from now, but as long as I can have the book nearby while I'm sitting on my bedpan, I'll be happy. And I won't even need my teeth in to read it.

I'll be 23. I only read the books this year, we had the original trilogy in one book lying around, but I could never get past the first half of LFB till this year. (Sorta like lotr) Glad that I did, cause now they're my favourite books.
