I am Norn. It is a pleasure to make your aquaintence, scarcely veiled threats, hyperbolic statements and all.

My seers say that your death will be particularly gruesome. Having a certain fascination with such pain as you will suffer the pleasure of our acquaintance is all mine.
It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.

I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

I hate to point out the obvious, but you haven't even revealed yourself to the people of Eiran. As such, any talk of you having followers at all, let alone seers, is a little premature.

As for my death, that is in the hands of the All-Father. However, when it does happen, it will be on my terms and not yours.

I have no idea.

I must confess that such an exchange is not normal for me. However a new deity is amongst us and what better way to learn more about him than by encouraging him to talk.

I hope that answers your question, lost though it now is.

I'm afraid we do not know you, Fallen. You appear somewhat hostile, but perhaps your reasons for such talk will become more clear as we get to know your ways. Surely as a god of Vengeance your hostility must be earned.

(And who is this Master of Lore who appears among us? A pun, at the gods' expense? The audacity.)

Maeror, it is good to see you. I wondered what you would think of your new "friend".

The Death I knew stalked the world many moons before you ascended, but you seem to be his equal, brother.

I am hostile and I am brutal but do not mistake me. I must learn the lay of this new land and you must learn to understand me better.

You reveal your ignorance.

I fear the Stars will go out and the sun extinguished ere we finish this talking, brother. I will say no more...until the time comes.

A friend of mine.

Hail Vadhaka and all fellow deities

I see that an electric storm has been unleashed on the city of Aikul and famine has struck. I assure you that I have nothing whatsoever to do with the incidents at hand despite suspicions of the contrary. And I want to make clear that I will extend my help in any way I can, completely free of any obligations. Alas my eyes cannot see through the mist covering the land, so I am in the dark as to what may be the cause.

A truth revealed...

Divine Siblings,

Some months ago, many of my followers bore children with severe birth defects. This happened to my father in his day. The cause turned out to be the very existence of that pantheon's god of Malice, Nephirthos. Love and Malice are not a healthy mix, and what we might call naturally-occurring emenations from him interacted badly with Love's followers. The stronger he grew, the more children were born with defects, and it eventually spread to the followers of my father's greatest ally.

My hope was that this was the cause of my own followers' troubles. I could hardly blame our own god of Malice if his very existence was a problem with my followers. I was about to dedicate all of my power to finding out if that was, indeed, the problem, and shield my followers as best I could.

However, birth defects are, by definition, Mutations, and the possibility that Nor Yekith was intentionally causing them had crossed my mind. And before I could even look for the truth, it was revealed to me. Hundreds of Nor Yekith's worshipers and Houka reached my lands and began rounding up the mutants, often forcefully, sending them to Nor Pupae in ships. And the Houkas dispersed in my forests.

Nor Yekith, get your creatures out of my Forests. Immediately. No hemming and hawing. There are no acceptable excuses for having perverted my followers' Loving act of procreation. For that matter, there is no acceptable excuse for having manipulated my people in any way. And now an invasion? None are less surprised than me that Malice would have such an attitude toward others, or act in such ways. But I am surprised that you imagine your power is so much greater so early in our divine lives.

Get out of my lands, you thieving, perverting bastard.
I am the self-fulfilling prophecy. Give love, and you WILL receive love. Let your every answer, your every action and reaction, your every desire, be rooted in love.

Such is life. Do you, the god of nature, disagree with this?
Bhakti wrote:However, birth defects are, by definition, Mutations, and the possibility that Nor Yekith was intentionally causing them had crossed my mind.
This is untrue. I have had no hand in this.
Bhakti wrote:And before I could even look for the truth, it was revealed to me. Hundreds of Nor Yekith's worshipers and Houka reached my lands and began rounding up the mutants, often forcefully, sending them to Nor Pupae in ships.
I ordered them to find the mutants for I also found out you were slaying them. Is there anything wrong with finding treasure in the waste one discards?
Bhakti wrote:And the Houkas dispersed in my forests.
Ahhh, my Houka are becoming restless, then. I have already found out that they slayed some followers of Chis'Roo. I will attend to their disobediences as soon as possible.
Bhakti wrote:Get out of my lands, you thieving, perverting bastard.
Now now, my friend. There is no need to become so angry. Surely the God of Love shows restraint and understanding. I will work towards a better outcome for both of us.

*shrug* It seems to me that for a god who demanded that all who would enter his lands must seek permission, you have been rather free in entering the lands of others... In the interests of fairness, I think that it would be only just to recall the Houka instantly. If your control over them is less than perfect, they may do large harm, even if you did not intend them to.

The thought that Malice's creations do not actually intend harm is ludicrous. The creations of Malice do not seek peace or Love. And as the Houka kill all of my followers that they can, my followers will kill all the Houka they can to protect those they Love. At which point, Nor Yekith will claim I have attacked first.

Your words already reveal your plan. "as soon as possible" and "work towards" do not fool anyone. All are watching.

I would like to state that reperations have been made. While I am distraught at the loss of my followers, a sort of... "blood debt" has been paid.

No more needs to be discussed on that topic.

That sounds eminently fair.

I am sure a simple request would have served as well and with less ill-feeling.

My Houka are retrieving the outcasts you would have slaughtered for the misfortunes of being deformed. You kill my Houka - I will retaliate. All I am doing is saving lives. The irony of your stance is amusing.

The motives, ulterior or otherwise, of our brothers aside Nor Yekith, I ask you to call all of your followers in Landir back to Nor Pupae.

I understand that the deaths of the Houka may anger you, but you have sent them into our brother Bhakti's lands without gaining his permission or even sending him warning. This worries me because Bhakti and I do not have a strict border to keep our respective peoples apart. Thus if the Houka are killing people then those people may be my worshippers.

If your followers have done what they came to do then I ask that they leave immediately.

I? Again? I have dispatched followers to Nor Pupae exactly once, with your explicit permission, which I requested as per your own request.

I mislike this veiled and baseless accusation, Nor-Yekith. I have made a simple observation, based on observable public utterance, and having myself already acceded to your own reasonable desire. If you dispute that, or believe you have some quarrel with me, by all means contact me and discuss it.

Nor Yekith

Can you see how the envoys I sent to help you with the plague are doing? The reception is really bad at Mount Olympos right now.
