I disagree with Nom vs Vain about the time thing. I see it more as a plain of existence, like a page in a book. They are all there, all the time. The ceasures are the equivalent to taking a page and moving it or destroying it all together. That is what is endangering the arch of time. Consider it like a book. You can take a page and put it somewhere else, and the book would still be complete but more confusing. If you do this more and more then the book while complete is unreadable as a book. Those that can traverse the "margins" so to speak can move about time quite rapidly. If they are benign like the Ranyhyn or Sandgorgons, then there is no disturbance in the book, But if Joan shows up and Foul uses her to jumble things up then anything is possible, but it better stop soon. Consider also that there were times when Covenant was physically there but not mentally there. He may have gone back or forward in time and have seen things that he did not share in the first six books.

Berek may be the old lords name for the ring wielder???
The knowledge of the white gold was apparently in the first ward.

The seven words could be:

May the ring wielder strike you dead.

Mike
I believe you have my stapler... I will get it back... or I'll burn Revelstone down...

have no idea

I read the posts and think that although other writers would have tried to wrap up the chronicles by putting covenant in an endless cycle of repeating his past, donaldson wouldn't really go for that. I mean, making covenant into berek is too convenient in terms of ending the chronicles since SRD wouldn't have to worry about somebody trying to continue the series after he's gone.

Unfortunately, i do not really know the very last sentence and therefore, have no authority to actually comment. so can anyone tell me what the very last sentence of the RoTE is?

The last sentence in a MAJOR spoiler.

I wouldnt want to hear it before reading the whole book.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Full of the heavens and time.

Yeah, I know of at least one other who has done that, to largely unfavourable reactions. :-x

I know of two... not really books, but characters nevertheless....

Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series (soul reaver)
Flash (it think it was barry allen who turned into the lightning bolt that turned him into the flash)
And I swear
I'll never do it again
Unless you kinda liked it...

I don't mind it so much with Raziel, but that could be because he's a secondary character to me. I know a lot of LoK fans love Raziel, but I much prefer Kain. I quote him whenever possible.

I'm thinking of a reasonably well known series by a famous author, but I don't want to name it in case someone here is still reading it.
