The Book of the New Sun, unlike The Book of the Long Sun, gets easier as you go along, and it makes much more sense the second time (I was sufficiently impressed the 2nd time around to start my own site).

Amber is pretty fun, you might like that one -- and you can even get all ten books in the series in one huge trade paperback.

Although I have read them all I have to say that the first five are far superior to the rest. Still all are worth reading.

I have to say that I also enjoyed the first five more than the second five...I think the author was very sick when he was working on book 10 (possibly earlier?) so the ending seemed rather abrupt to me...

For the last couple of days, I've been re-reading the Silmarillrion. No particular order, I've read it many times. Turin Turambar and Earendil this afternoon, the Darkening of Valinor last night. 8)

I am in the middle of rereading Zelazny's A Night From the Lonesome October again. After all, it IS October now. :wink:
I think I'll read some GRR Martin next, Fevre Dream. :)

I had a look at the first few pages of the Amber books, but I didn't really like the way it was written. Instead I decided to see what 'Wizard's First Rule' by Terry Goodkind is like. I'll be starting it tonight.

A first few pages? Thats it?

If I had only judged Lord Foul's Bane by its first pages I wouldn't have even bothered to continue because the beggining reminded me of the deathly boring "Scarlet Letter."

Yes, you definitedly have to read all the way to the Celebration of Spring at least before judging LFB.
