I want SNOW!

Post by Usivius »

OK, I know many outside Canada may have the image of us having two seasons: winter and July, but for most of us in the huge country its just not snow --- uh, so.
Anyway, for the last two days here in Toronto it have been pissing rain. Tempratures bouncing between 4 and 15 C (that's about 40 - 62 F I'm guessing). Now I know some parts of Central Canada have gotten lots of snow (drew? how are things in the 'Peg?), and I for one am terribly jealous! I want SNOW! Not this crappy rain! You can't do anything in rain! Especially not when it's cold.

Gimme snow! I want to toboggan down the local hills with my daughter. Make snow forts and throw snowballs at my family...

Anyone else?...

You can have ours. I live northwest of Chicago and it's really coming down now. It started overnight. There's probably 7 inches of snow (18 cm) now on the ground, and it's supposed to go on for the next 4 hours.

Heh i want it aswell, unfortunatuley Scotland has a piss poor climate most of the time.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Snowflake-hugging hippies! I hope Georgia has no winter at all, as I must venture beyond my domicile for jogging. Jack Frost is an asshole.

Yeah... I would kind of like some snow here too. Just an inch or two would be nice. It'd be a lot more fun than this lame 60-70 degree weather. Hello, it's December.-jay

We just got about 7-8 inches in my town. Looks like a white Christmas!

Man, I'll never forget the Georgia blizzard of 93. It was late at night and we were like, "Oh, here's a few flakes, neato."

Next morning: trees fallen over--EVERYTHING white. Mountains of snow! Was fun when we had to use the fireplace for food. Gave Ramen noodles a nice flavor.

I guess that means you've also never had your car door (or locks) frozen shut, or had to scrape ice from your car windows with a credit card because you hadn't bought an ice scraper this year, or slipped on the ice going to your car and fell on your tail bone (um... ouch)(falling in slush=wet butt for the rest of the day=unhappy Waddley) or slid in your car on the ice into a sidewalk, or had to get studded tires or chains for your tires just go get to family's for the holidays, or had to take a detour home because they closed the big hill that you usually take, or had everyone call in absent to work because they were afraid of the 5 minute drive through the slush.... or.. ya know.... any of that :P

When I'm in the snow, I always remember this sage advice from Frank Zappa:
"Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow"
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.
