INDIANA JONES 4 HAS BEEN CONFIRMED

Well it seems everyone has approved the script and Ford has inked a contract. It also seems Lucas is really excited about it. I hope thats a good thing. I guess news will pour in as soon as they start rolling cameras. I want this to be a genuinely good film but there is a lot to worry about here.

Thanks for the news, TOM! It's just amazing (or appalling) how long this movie project has been stuck in development hell.
Let's see...the last time we saw an Indiana Jones flick in theatres:
- the AC-3 surround sound standard (Dolby Digital) didn't exist yet
- laserdisc was "hi-def"
- Star Trek was still popular
- Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet (har har)
- the Soviet Union was still around
- the Intel 486 was cutting edge microprocessor technology
- the 8-bit Nintendo ruled the game console universe
- big hair metal was still storming charts and arenas
- a Canadian hockey team actually won the Stanley Cup
- SRD was actually a top-selling author

I recall during the first flick that Lucas said all the future Ind Jones movies would be filmed in reverse, meaning the first (Lost Arc) would actually be Indy's last adventure, so to speak. Now that Harrison Ford is 89 I wonder if that is still the plan....
(yes, i know he isn't 89...)
(yes, i know he isn't 89...)
Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

I think this is a huge mistake after this amount of time. Ford is a geezer, and hasn't made a decent film in what, 10 years?
Leave it be.
Leave it be.

I don't think it will disappoint. Lucas is a great "idea-guy"... thankfully he has Spielberg to craft it well.

...and terribly sad ...a Canadian hockey team actually won the Stanley Cup

So this is basically gonna be a movie about him teaching graduate classes in archeological ethics, right? I mean, what else is an old prof to do?

Luca$ hasn't been involved with a decent film since 1989. Spielberg has been hit-or-miss for over a decade, and Ford hasn't made a decent film since what, Clear and Present Danger in 1994?
Sorry, I loved the first three Indy films, but the lightning has left the bottle.

gads, you actually liked the second one? Ik.
And Spielberg is annoying in the fact that he really hasn't made a bad movie since ... well "1941". Really. You may not like one movie or another, but you can't say they are 'bad'.
Sheesh, even The Terminal, a shcloky movie if there ever was one, was good. That b@stard just has great story-telling abilities behind the camera and he knows who to cast ...
My vote is in the area of Indy 4 being at LEAST theatre-ticket watchable.

I think it'll be a fun movie, watching a retired 60-something Indy searching for the Fountain of Youth in his retirement center, set in 1964. Maybe we'll even get to watch him bitch about Rock 'N Roll!

Be thrilled as Indy eats dinner at 3pm, then goes home to watch Matlock on TNT.

Middle aged? Harrison Ford is 64! He's 5 years older than Connery was in Last Crusade!

He hasn't aged as well as Connery, either.

True. He's also not even half the actor that Connery is.
