I played a fair way into it before I realised that I didn't like it. I'm not sure exactly why, maybe it's just too big and complicated or maybe I just don't appreciate the ghetto superstar storyline. It just isn't as goot as Vice City.

About to head off an buy Silent Hunter III for the second time. My disc is badly scratched so it doesn't work. At least the game is on budget.

Yeah, the whole ghetto thing does nothing for me. The GTA games have always felt more Mafia than 'hood to me, so San Andreas jars a bit. Plus I just find the missions a bit niggly.

I've stopped playing that and moved (back) onto Soul Reaver 2. One of the the weaker Legacy of Kain games gameplay-wise, but still reasonably enjoyable - and essential for understanding the plot.

Just got Rise of Legends, a delayed christmas gift. So far, seems alright--pretty much your average RTS. The console covers a bit too much of the screen, but that's just because of my screen resolution.

Silent Hunter III again. After four weeks of trying to get it to work, I finally fixed it tonight. So happy.

True Crime: New York City

Beats GTA at its own game. It's simpler and less polished than the GTAs, but more fun, and fun is what games are about.

Tekken 4 for hours last night.

There's few things better than outer space and turn-based strategy. I'm definitely going to get it, once the price goes down. I'd love to give Stardock 30$ for such a fine product, but I'm a poor bugger.

At the moment, I'm playing Psychonauts. Very intelligent, vastly underrated game. It's a platformer by Tim Schafer, of LucasArts fame (he's done mostly PC adventure games, such as Grim Fandango).

If you want I will let you have my serial key and you can download the game.

Thanks Lore.

In addition to Psychonauts, I'm also playing Fallout. I used to have problems running it on XP (the game is older, and the screen often went blank for some reason). It's working fine, strangely. I expect my monitor to blow up any second, in order to balance the karma.

As for Fallout itself: perhaps the truest form of role-playing in a video game. Turn-based combat kicks real-time’s ass.

I received Supreme Commander today and played it for an hour. It's great. My only complaint is that the sides are really identical apart from aesthetics.

Lord of the Rings Online. It's surprisingly very very good.

A little bit of Resident Evil 4, Timesplitter's 3 and Mortal Kombat.

In my enforced absence from WoW I've given Oblivion another go and to my surprise I've finally started enjoying it. Somewhere between getting to Cheydinhal and accidentally becoming a vampire the game has actually become fun, and I now want to become rich so I can buy myself a horse and a house. Plus I want to see how scary I look if I don't feed for a few days, though that might harm my chances of getting a house.

I've continued to sooth my WoW withdrawal with Oblivion and I've picked up Halo and resumed Halo 2 in preparation for playing one or both of them against my colleagues on the Xboxes we have at work.

I also got Psychonauts the other day, only played a little way into it but it looks like a good game so far.

Final Fantasy XII (not very far in) Prince of Persia:Sands of Time (this game is great) and GTA:Vice City.

Thinking about picking up Kingdom Hearts II or Prince of Persia:The Warrior Within soon. Any feedback from the Watch on either game?
