Disney Songs

Post by Hellfire »

I adore them. My favorite was Beauty and the Beast. That Gaston song cracks me up every time.

[Townsman:] No one hits like Gaston
Matches wits like Gaston
[LeFou:] In a spitting match nobody spits like Gaston
[Gaston:] I'm espcially good at expectorating
(Ptooey!)
[Chorus:] Ten points for Gaston!

[Gaston:] When I was a lad I ate four dozen eggs
Ev'ry morning to help me get large
And now that I'm grown I eat five dozen eggs
So I'm roughly the size of a barge

[Chorus:] No one shoots like Gaston
Makes those beauts like Gaston
[LeFou:] Then goes tromping around wearing boots like Gaston
[Gaston:] I use antlers in all of my decorating

If you haven't seen it- there is this burly tough hunter guy singing about himself and it could be something out of Monty Python, I swear.

That's one of my faves too. We sung that for a show in my middle school chorus.

Great isn't it. I haven't seen Beauty & Beast yet, will keep an eye out for that tune if I do!

( saw Anger Management last night, was quite entertaining seeing Sandler and Nicholson dueting on "I feel pretty, oh so pretty" :D )

All songs off of Aladdin except A Whole New World.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Hey, what about the Monsieur Hood song in Shrek?
I like an honest fight and a saucy little maid
What he's basically saying is he likes to get...paid!
I know a guy who works at Pixar, they're wporking on a film about a group of superheroes. He says the animation is incredible and should knock everything else they've done so far into a cocked hat.

That would be awesome -- I really like all of their movies! :)

Besides the ones already mentioned, I also like most of the songs from the Lion King. 8)
I hope to see the Broadway play when it comes to Detroit next spring. :)

The Lion King was pretty good and it had a good sequal which is rare for Disney movies. Did you see the sequal for Alladin or the Little Mermaid? IT STUNK  The Toy Story sequal was excellent as well but the songs on Toy Story got on my nerves. They all sound alike.

I used to teach the kids in my class tons of Disney songs.

Sub-sti-tutiary Locomotion [Bedknobs and Broomsticks]
The Siamese Cat Song [Lady and The Tramp]
Zip A Dee Doo Dah [Song Of The South]

Personally I like:-

Colour Of The Wind - Pocahontas
Can You Feel The Love Tonight & Circle Of Life [Lion King]
Beauty And The Beast
Under The Sea

You saved me the trouble of typing the exact same thing. :) (Except we spell it color over here. :) )

Navarino, any estimate on a release date? Sounds pretty awesome!

Not at present, it's all being kept very hush-hush. I wasn't allowed to actually see any of it. Normally you'd be able to see the dailies or at least look at what the animators are up to if you know the right people, but there really worried about people stealing bits of it.
All I know is the basic premise and that the working title is The Incredibles.

I like the song from Tarzan that they use to introduce the Legend of Tarzan series, whatever it's called: Two Worlds?--sung by Phil Collins--also his song with all the drumming in the movie. A Bug's Life RULEs! "I am a bee-you-tiful butterfly!" :D

I can't stand most musicals--unless they're the Moulin Rogue or something or Rocky Horror Picture Show.

For some reason, Zippedy-Doo-Da is often stuck in my head when I have a rough time waking up...Weird. :?

Toy Story is the best. A Bugs Life...eh. Pretty good. It's not exactly Aladdin!

Fantasia is awsome. I just got the DVD along with Fantasia 2000. There is one at the end of Fantasia 2000 with a forest spirit that is great. I always liked the one with the little cherubs and the pegasus foals on the old Fantasia.
