Well, either Danlo's older than I figured, or he likes to drop acid. I hope it's the former. |L

You actually remember that? Wow!

I met Mickey Mantle when I was about 8. I didn't know who the hell he was. And I met Paul Hornung at about the same time. My Dad was giving him a physical (I have no idea why; he was in town to sign autographs for some reason). I really had no idea who Paul Hornung was.

...not really, but my parents like to brag about it-their same publisher friends who knew Ayers, Pound, Dodge and housed Peter Tompkins while he was writing The Secrets of the Great Pyramids. My Mom and I worked on a bunch of the photos for that book. He's related to my Dad and also wrote A Spy in Rome (he was OSS) and The Secret Life of Plants (that, yes, Stevie Wonder took an album title from). His son wrote a very cool book too...

In my pre teens and early teens, my Mom lived in New Jersey and at her gym she was on a master's swim team with Clarence Clemons and because of that I was on a first name basis with the man. I can honestly say that he is very charming and nice and sweet.

SRD obviously. How many people can say they got to film SRD in bed with their roomies? hahahahhahh

I've met James and Alex Taylor and Carly Simon.

Dr Robert Ballard. I've even been in the study at his house where he did all his Titanic research.

Cam Neely, Andy Moog and John Carter (Boston Bruins at the time) and Michael J Fox - all at the same bar in Malden Ma. John Carter actually hit on me however he's a total dick so he got shut down....hahhaha.

Other authors - Robert Vardeman, Peter S. Beagle

Favorite brush with fame was hanging out backstage watching Fishbone perform while I was flanked by MCA and Mike D of the Beastie Boys who were on after Fishbone. I chatted with both MCA and Mike D however, never spoke to Adrock although I watched him pee off the scaffolding (outdoor concert).

Celebrity sightings - Rik Ocasik of the Cars, threw snowballs at him. Spike Lee, Bruce Springsteen.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

:LOLS:

I wish I'd kicked Mickey Mantle in the nuts. I didn't hate the Yankees as much then as I do now (this was pre-1978 ). I did see Whitey Ford a couple of years ago at a parade, and I boo'd him. It was awesome.

Speaking of kicking guys in the nuts, I walked right past Tim McCarver on Michigan Ave. in Chicago about 10 years ago. Alas, I missed another golden opportunity.

HAHAHA, well, I was hanging out with some friends who were all music students (Berklee College of Music) and when we saw him leaving the studio down the street we couldn't resist.

I also forgot to add Red Grange of football fame to the list. He was a friend of my Grandfather. Very nice man.

OH, and not sure if this counts because I have never met him, but I am third or fourth cousins with Todd Christensen, also of football fame.
