*shrug* You may have.
I seek merely to have it finalised. I have no need to panic at the moment, for the potential rift is not in my lands. Rather I speak for the good of Erian and of us all.
And there was no coercion involved. All I sought was an unambiguous answer. That you agreed to support this particular option.

"Oh of course," the Navigator said with faint mocking in his voice, "you have probably heard of House Praetus. We have a palace on Holy Terra. Like all powerful groups, we also have our enemies. Do you honestly think someone like you matters?" - A dissolute noble.

Your integrity, humility and decency is admirable. Alas, if some could reach your lofty heights.Norn wrote:I have stopped already Nor Yekith so you need not worry.

They need only live in a tower as I do.
In all seriousness however, I have found that any ambiguity can be costly when dealing with the All-Father. Since this request will ultimately go before him I wanted to make sure I clearly understood everyones stance, hence my reasons for insisting on clarification.

I am the self-fulfilling prophecy. Give love, and you WILL receive love. Let your every answer, your every action and reaction, your every desire, be rooted in love.

I do not like this talk of sealing Eiran for all time. It was said before that we do not know whether the world needs interaction with the world beyond, and if Eiran were to be completely sealed, it might wither away. And besides, sealing Eiran will cause many of my children to dwindle in numbers: or would you deny that by closing Eiran, my fiendish children would no longer be able to enter the world? And what if they need a connection to beyond to survive, and were to die if the connection were severed?
No, I shall not agree to such a request unless it is worded in such a way as to prevent these tragedies from happening.
But in the meantime, allow me to congratulate myself with the Love-Fool and the Mother of Misers for the birth of their child...

Although I am the one who brought up this possibility, I do not think it particularly likely. I am willing to risk that our reality is not fundamentally dependent (for structure, energy, etc) on interactions with other planes of existence. I do not believe we can withstand the continual tears like the ones we have already faced. I believe the only rifts that effect us at all are detrimental to us. Case in point:Melirelle wrote:I do not like this talk of sealing Eiran for all time. It was said before that we do not know whether the world needs interaction with the world beyond, and if Eiran were to be completely sealed, it might wither away.
Truth be told, I had no idea your children had any connection with other planes. However, as Yek has repeatedly sworn my destruction, and as you are his most powerful servant (Truly, congratulations are in order to Yek and you for having created such a situation! Astonishing what a deity can do with the right imagination!!), I'm afraid I could not find it in my Heart to mourn anything that weakens you.Melirelle wrote:And besides, sealing Eiran will cause many of my children to dwindle in numbers: or would you deny that by closing Eiran, my fiendish children would no longer be able to enter the world? But there is something of even greater importance:
If we think it can be done, I would be willing to agree to a wording that sealed off all other dimensions in all ways except those that benefit you. The rest of us would still be better off than we are now. However, I do not know that any wording would safely do that, nor (nor, not Nor) do I expect that everyone else would go along with this idea anyway. But it's worth suggesting. The window of opportunity is closing. If we do not agree on something, and soon, we lose the chance.Melirelle wrote:No, I shall not agree to such a request unless it is worded in such a way as to prevent these tragedies from happening.
Which is probably the best thing that could happen.

Raising the age-old question: Why do fools fall in Love? Even I have no answer.Melirelle wrote:But in the meantime, allow me to congratulate myself with the Love-Fool and the Mother of Misers for the birth of their child...

I risked my immortal life for this? The Allfather presents us with this unique opportunity to do what is right for Eiran, and you bicker like children. If I had not told the Allfather I would do anything for Eiran, I'd walk away from the whole thing.
If we cannot agree to seal the rift or even to increase our power, then can we at least agree to destroy the abomination threatening our brother's life?

Simjen is right - we have been offered a gift beyond what even the most powerful of us could ever hope to achieve, just when we are in dire need due to a multitude of dangers, and rather than accepting the gift in the spirit it is offered and work together for the safety of Eiran, we let petty rivalries keep us from helping our people.
Brothers, Sisters, mortals aren't our playthings, our servants: they don't exist for our amusement. If anything, we are their servants - or their parents, if you will. It is up to us to protect them and to guide them. Look at the example we are giving them! War in Olaern, a god fighting alone in Landir, the breaking of Khenstorn - I tell you, Brothers and Sisters, that our actions rival those of Nephirthos in his Malice. If this is a taste of what Eiran will suffer while we exist, it would be much better for us to leave the world alone to heal its wounds!

Indeed. I am in agreement with Simjen and Hedra Iren. I will agree to the destruction of the Abomination I am in battle with; the sealing of the fabric of reality, with or without the caveat; or the extra DRP's for the turn.
However, we all know full well the risk of unforseen consequences, and I would not be too upset if we did nothing. My apologies, Simjen. You are noble and good. But you did not know what you would return with. If you had known that the risk would yield this particular fruit, I would have advised against bothering.
On the other hand, unforseen consequences are not likely to be worse than what is currently happening - especially to me!
- so I am not opposed to making a wish.

Maeror's reiteration and clarification of my proposal may have gone unheard by more than myself amidst the... dialogue of Nor and Bhakti. So I will repeat it, just to make sure. Each god's DRP would be increased by a set amount, not to. Therefor, you would still maintain your advantage, Nor.
Indeed, seven might be too high. I prefer to start out with a plan that is optimal and scale it back until it is workable. However, I do not think anything less than three would be worth the effort.
I was doubtful of the prospect at first, but this dialogue has made me certain that we could never all reach agreement to do what is good, much less what is best, for Eiran. The only choice is to give those who would help against the plague, the rift, or the abomination the power to do so and allow those who would not to pursue their own selfish interests.
