Setting a deadline of Friday 12pm GMT for the wish is perfect for me, because that's about 10 minutes before I have to send my moves off.

In fact, I request that such deadline be set, otherwise I might be the "dissenter" that costs the result simply by virtue of my absence, unless everybody subsequently accepts my choice.

Just a thought/comment on the rules:

Are the NPC's actually allowed a veto here?

If Xar can effectively stop anything from being done himself, (as controller of the NPC's) then it's as though there were no wish in the first place. *shrug*

Just wanted to throw that out there...

I'm disappointed in you if you think I'd use the NPCs as a hammer to prevent anything I don't want to happen from taking place... the NPCs act according to their own plans and desires, not as my mouthpieces... :P

*shrug* Just something I wanted to mention.

I'm willing to accept it, and as I've said before, I choose to always play as though Xar is honest. ;) Sometimes you have to wonder though. And I'm a natural cynic, so you can't blame me.

No, of course not... just like you can't blame me if next turn a monstrous abomination shows up on your doorstep and mops the floor with all your worshipers, even as a giant lightning strikes you dead :P

Actually, I'd take that as a pretty fair indication that my cynicism was well-founded. ;)

:LOLS:

(Oh, btw...what about the deadline for the wish?)

As far as I'm concerned, as long as the wish (or lack thereof) is finalized by saturday evening, like the normal turn, I'm fine. If you wish an earlier deadline, such as friday, I'm obviously ok with it, though.

Well, I can only give my last vote by Friday, call it 12pm GMT, same time as I submit my moves.

So if the consensus changes after that,my assent won't be given. *shrug* I'm willing to give a proxy vote for somebody to use too though, if that's permissable.

No, I'd rather have everyone vote for themselves. I think a Friday deadline is fine. Actually, it may give me time to think how whatever wish you ask of might affect existing plotlines :P

I find it funny that my wording of the oath--which I made overly pedantic as a kind of objection to it all--is now being copied by others in all seriousness. Heh.

It WAS a good idea, though!

Those of you who are not his target can afford to object. 8O :lol:

Just one quick comment re: Adomorn's change of domains. A deity can always choose to give up a domain he or she holds, but keep in mind that some (or many) of your followers might not agree with this, form a splinter group that worships you through your discarded domain, and therefore weakening you (since their worship no longer fuels you).

ACQUIRING a new domain requires an expenditure of DRPs instead.

This means that exchanging a domain for another requires an expenditure of DRPs AND might risk alienating many of the old followers... Just thought I'd mention it, although it should be relatively obvious.

I have submitted my turn - which includes my attempt at closing the rift and the acquisition of a new domain.
"Oh of course," the Navigator said with faint mocking in his voice, "you have probably heard of House Praetus. We have a palace on Holy Terra. Like all powerful groups, we also have our enemies. Do you honestly think someone like you matters?" - A dissolute noble.

Do I take it that the two domain limit no longer applies or was only ever a "starting" limit?

(I do notice we seem to have several deities with more than two domains.)

The two domain limit was only a starting limit. Several deities already acquired new domains in one of three main ways:

1) By paying DRPs to establish themselves as gods of a new domain;
2) By having their own followers spontaneously begin to worship them as patrons of a new domain;
3) By committing deicide.

Of course, too many domains are never a good thing - because while it means more power, it also means you're far more likely to be weakened whenever something happens that is the opposite of one of your domains ;)
