How do you feel today?

Yesterday Melissa and me broke up. I can't really describe how I feel but every thing good and worth looking forwards to in my life is gone. More than anything in the world I wish I could fall asleep and wake up to find it all a dream, I'd give anything for that.

I don't think is much I can say to help, my friend, other than people at KW are here for you if you need someone and that in time you'll feel better.

Thanks everyone, since I woke up today things have felt a little better. I still don't know how to live a life with the biggest part of it missing. Its kind of like being a walking scab where every movement opens me to bleed again, i guess I'm lucky that my friends have been great to me and stayed around to listen to me blabber about it even if it's boring to them or whatever.

no doubt, breaking up is hard to do. hang in there, man, time will ease the sting. best you can do is find something you can focus on and convert all the negative energy into something that will help move you forward. one step at a time.

I feel good! I'm going to start looking for an artist for my next piece of ink. It won't be at least 6 months until I get it, but I've decided on a location (outside of my left thigh, just above my knee) and the search for an appropriate artist is (to me) more difficult than choosing the piece, so I don't mind having to wait.

GG, that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I feel your pain. I remember well that bitter pit in the bottom of my stomach. Know it will pass in time. Sorry we can't do more.

I'm sorry to hear what happened, but like iQuestor said, you will be all the stronger, and the wiser for it. It hurts now. It hurts like a bitch, and you won't believe me, but in time you may not even remember her name. It is what it is, and I hope that you find peace soon.

For anyone who was keeping track...I've decided after a year of testings and interviews, and finally acceptance to turn down the city bus driving job.

It's good pay, and a good benifit package, and a good retirement deal; but crappy crappy hours.
I'm gone for twelve hours a day now as a courier...but the bus drivers usually go in for a four or five hour moring shift, and then a four or five hour afternoon shift, any of the guys I know say that they're in for about five in the moring and home at about eight in the evening; you do this for up to ten years, before you get the good shifts.

Plus I've never worked a weekend in my life; I don't really want to start now.
I'd hardly be home in the evenings; plus I don't think I'd be able to handle just sitting on my ass all day, with the only physical activity being opening a door.

So I'm going to stick with the whole courier thing...I've been doing it since I was eighteen, plus I just got myself a fairly good offer...It's about ten grand less a year then the City would have paid me to drive a bus; but the benifit package is free (no pension though) I get my evenings and weekends off...and I get full use of the company vehicle and fuel when I'm not working.

It was a tough decicion to turn down the City..especially after all the effort I put in just to chosen (350 applicants narrowed down to 50); and in twenty years, I'll probebly be kicking myself for passing it by...but right now I have more important things to worry about then my future retirement.

Sorry to hear about what's going on in your life Gil but I'm of the belief these things happen for a reason...just might take you a while to work out what that reason is. And I agree with iQuestor. Brave heart!

I'm tired today. Don't know why. Have just spent 2 1/2 hours down at the park while Son of Seareach has run around like a mad thing! He's now watching Happy Feet (should see SOS dance now...he thinks he's a penguin!) and I'm contemplating coffee...and deciding how I should string my partner up for getting a $215 speeding fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanx Lore. It's where I went on the weekend for the day. This is the land I used to roam when I was a kid (it's located directly opposite the house I used to live in). My sister now owns this 10 acre block. she needs to get cattle or sheep on it...the grass is getting far too long!!!

Drew, trust your choice. Do you get more exercise being a courier? The problem with a job like the one that you turned down is that is that it takes years to get seniority. I used to work for the local commuter railroad. For those who became conductors, it takes 15-20 years of working weekend and night shifts before one gets enough seniority to work decent hours.

Sea, if I may ask, how fast one have to go down there to get a $215 fine?

Yes, you can ask...and I'll happily rant (because I think speeding is irresponsible...*and* expensive...and I'm ticked off): he was doing 82kmph in a 60 zone!!!! He was doing it just after 6am...but that's not the point. They then knock off 3% off the speed or something (apparently to take in error factor) so the official "alleged speed" was 79kmph. If he'd been doing 25kmph over I think that's automatic loss of license and a much larger fine. And...well...it kinda would have been a little "inconvenient" if he'd lost his license. He can't get to work via public transport (and has to be able to drive to do fieldwork). I feel sorry for him. A round trip to and from work is approximately 4 1/2 hours per day so it must do his mind in. However...speeding...yeah.... I know he speeds, and I've told him if he hits a roo at that speed he'll total the car...and probably himself...but there's only so many times one can talk at a brick wall before giving up!
