I have a bad habit of doing this. When I read about a book character, I just get a tv show or video game character's face stuck in my mind instead of anything following their actual description. Often, faces which are very off the mark.
For instance...well, it happens a lot with Erikson's Malazan books, so I'll use those. Instead of Kalam Mekhar, Crokus, and Sorry/Apsalar, I see Volke, Sothe, and Astrid, 3 characters from the fire emblem game on the gamecube. I can't remember what Sothe looks like, but I'm pretty he doesn't have green hair. And Kalam's supposed to be bulky, not skinny.

(he's missing the facemask thingy he gets later)
Too lazy to get the others, but you get what I mean. Besides not being real-life'ish images, they're far from close to the actual description.
Anyone else had the same problem?

Sometimes I'll get a picture of someone in my head, and then when I read the story another time, I realize that I misread the desription. Blonde hair instead of brown for instance, but it's already too late for me to change it!
