(After a quick trip to xe.com's currency converter)
How much?
On the other hand, it
is a pretty nice telescope.
(Totally not helping.)

Hmm. The currency converter told me £927. (That was an incredulous, rhetorical, "how much?", btw.)

With all majors purchases I make, my rule of thumb is this. If I can afford it, and I'll actually USE it. Then go for it.
But if it's going on a credit card, and you'll use it, then wait.
If you'll neither use it, nor aford it, forget about it.

Better in terms of value, wose in terms of sending it overseas to be repaired.

Unlikely, it looks likely I'll be ordering the one I provided the link to. Order it tomorrow.

I can't load the page to the link you provide, Lore. The traffic from the Watch must have shut the site down.

I plan to.
I'll never forgot the night I looked at Saturn using my 4.5" reflector. God, that was beautiful.

Now, I see it. Looks like a good scope for the planets.

I've also seen Jupiter and Mars. Jupiter was great, and I observed it over three nights - seeing its moons orbit (gradually). Mars was viewed back in 1998 when the planet was very close to Earth.

Can you see Albiero, in Cygnus from your latitude?
Most beautiful double star pair in the sky. One is gold, the other blue.

Did you catch Mars, what, a few months ago or so? It was supposed to be as close as it'll get in our, and our kids, lifetimes? It was great, but even better through a telescope I'll bet.
On a side note, when is Halley supposed to swing by again?

I can't see Cygnus from my latitude, sorry. However, the glory of the southern hemisphere night skies more than makes up for that!
