What a pain in the a*s. Hope you feel better!Lorelei wrote:I HURT!!
I slipped on the ice and fell last night after a whole lot of red wine. I think I bruised my tailbone. You'd be suprised how many things you do make it hurt.
Hopefully that will teach me a lesson in red wine consumption.

It's easy to do just follow these steps
1: Cut a hole in a box
2: Put your junk in that box
3: Make her open the box
And that's the way you do it
you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Hope your tailbone feels better soon, Lorelei!
Good luck with the new/old job, Drew!
Feeling pretty relaxed today. I'm off work for President's Day, but Younger Daughter had to go to school. So I got up this morning to get her out the door, then did laundry, finished the Patricia McKillip novel I was reading ("Ombria in Shadow"), and went online -- and I didn't have to negotiate with the kid for the laptop!

Mani, after the Norse god of the Moon. The reason I named him that is in the Pets thread.
He's a little wary of me since when he sees me walking toward him since I'm usually hauling him downstairs to put him outside in the cold. He's making a game of making me chase him around the couch. He gets a little hop in his step when he does that. He's a quiet dog. I haven't heard him bark yet. I did find out this morning that he likes getting his belly rubbed though.

It's taken from the piece, "Dick in a box" performed by Justin Timberlake on Saturday Night Live.Lucimay wrote:i l o v e your sig!!!!![]()

Well, if I had written yesterday, I'd have said great, but right now I'd say kind of crappy... a girl I've met at the New Year's party and with whom I've been going out until I had to come back to Germany - but with whom I've been keeping in touch via MSN and phone - was very happy to see me last weekend, and we ended up kissing... I was very happy, and then today she told me she thinks we went too fast and she'd rather go back to being good friends, because she's confused. I know she likes me - both in January and last weekend she actually asked me not to go back to Germany, and she was also the one who kissed first; but I think she's afraid - of the distance, of the idea of losing her freedom, and most of all of the fact that she remained single by choice for years, and then I came along and caused her defences to crumble in a month and a half.
I can show her that being together doesn't mean giving up freedom, and I can show her that distance doesn't really matter (I'd be willing and I have the resources to go back home at least once per month to visit), but only she can do something about the last point.
I've heard the saying, "if you love her, let her go", before, but I never before found myself in that position. It's horribly hard, but it's also the only thing I can do if I want to have a hope that she'll realize we're better together than apart, and come back.

Feeling a little uncertain of myself.
I am currently nearing the end of a 3-year course in Physics at the University of York. Since I was in school, I found science interesting and enjoyed learning about it, but I've never been able to work out what I want to do as a career. I carried on with maths and physics into A level and University, because that was what I knew.
However, recently I have found myself, distressingly, thinking that I don't really want to get a job related to physics, or maths, or engineering, or whatever. I've started thinking of pursuing completely unrelated subjects, even going so far as to consider applying for uni all over again.
The truth is, I'm beginning to feel as though I have wasted three years of education and a lot of money, just because I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with my life. At the end of this year, I will owe £12,000 in student loans. i really don't want to feel like the last three years of my life, and all that money, have just been a big waste.

Well, I got to give someone good news today. About six months ago I gave a woman an over the phone estimate based on what another shop had told her she needed to repair and so she saved the money and brought the car to me and when we inspected it today, we found that she didn't actually need to replace the front hub/bearing assemblies that the other shop had told her she needed replaced. They were right about the outer cv boot though so we replaced that and she got out of here for about 450 bucks less than she expected. She was walking on air when I phoned her with the good news.
