When you see a random chocobo running around, you can give them to it to ride it around.-jay

It's not an assumption. I already told you, I've seen some myself.

What do you want me to do, draw you a map? Heh.-jay

FFXII. Very good so far. It's a bit like a mix of FFX and FFIX, using mostly the good parts.

It's not to bad. I prefer the old turn based ATB system, what about you Murrin?

It's a very different experience. I'm actually enjoying the battles quite a bit, though it takes a lot more skill. I don't think I'm so good at keeping track of what all my team members are doing. The Gambit system is great, except on the setup I have, once a fight goes badly wrong my party can spend all their time healing each other and not fighting.

I wouldn't compare this to the old instanced battles, really. Whole other beast.

Yeah.

You really have to keep your eyes on them a lot.

Same thing keeps happening to me, they'll get hurt, and then I'm stuck healing, only the healing keeps matching the damage, and eventually I die.

Sucks on a boos fight too.

Very good, though, overall.

One of the most interesting things about the new system is that you can do anything during a battle. You can go into the menu and switch equipment and Gambits. Helps sometimes when you need a different setup during a fight.

Very!

Especially being able to make any character distance or melee at the touch of a button.

Much more versatile than in previous FF's.

Sorry. The weaponry that the characters respectivley wield. They can all use anything you have, as long as the liscense has been purchased.

Helps keep leveling up the characters evenly MUCH easier.

Oh, yeah. Right. Though I'm not sure on what you mean about it helping with even levelling.

The licenses are the one part I'm wary about. It's the same flaw that FFVIII had, almost: all the characters can end up the same, because everything is open to everyone. I have the odd urge to stick to the old classes--main char as rogue, main female as WM and summoner, etc--but it's far more practical to just give everyone the same skills.

I'm actually pretty disappointed with FF12 (maybe the only person, but oh well.)

I hate the plot (which doesn't exist anyway).

I hate the characters (except for Balthier, who is awesome).

And the liscense board is stupid and pointless (I have it pretty much filled out for each character at this point or have made it pretty much pointless).

That, and I'm simply fed up with this game. I've logged 100 hours (!) into this game, and I'm still not finished with the bloody thing.

I stopped playing it last week and started playing Final Fantasy 6 Advance. Now THAT'S an RPG.

But yeah. Personally, I need an RPG with interesting characters, good character development, and at least a decent story. I haven't seen any of these in FF12.

I want to kill Fran, who's voice irritates me to no end.

Panelo has to be the single most pointless character ever invented.

Ashe, Basch and Vaan are all lame.

And the story...don't even get me started on the "story." God, there is no point to this story. It's just Ashe running around to different places for no reason.

Balthier is the only character worth a damn. And the hunts are kinda fun. Besides those two things, I give FF12 a full two thumbs down.

But I think I'm just a bitter old gamer. Heh.

(Goes back to playing FF6, a REAL game.)-jay

P.S. I have my Balthier at level 52. Fran is still at level 11. I think that's funny.

Actually, I agree with almost all of that Jay! Except about the characters, I'm a sucker for almost anyone, but yeah I've taken a break too. I;m in the same boat. Truth be told, I'm having trouble remembering what I need to do anymore anyways.
