OK, so is aliantha convoying with us, Damelon? Since she's planning on doing Sante Fe on Monday, does this mean we would head to Denver on Tuesday?

Thanks danlo. I have an air mattress and sleeping bag I can bring to camp out with aliantha, but I must warn her in advance that I have been told by friends who shared a room with me at a RenFest years ago that I snore like a buzzsaw.

Do you think the baby could sleep through that? Or would I disturb anyone snoring away on the couch?

Aliantha is flying home from Albuquerque on Tuesday. My plan is to fly home from Denver on Monday afternoon.

Menolly and dAN are coming in the car with us?

Batty and my other daughter are opting to fly straight to ABQ. And in fact, Younger Daughter will probably fly in on Saturday and skip the Elohimfest entirely. (She hasn't read any of the books and so meeting SRD doesn't have the same appeal to her as it does to the rest of us.)

Menolly, honey, I snore too. We can keep each other awake!

Danlo, you're still okay with the tent in the backyard? I can take it down in plenty of time for whatever events occur there on Sunday. Batty will be staying with us, too (there's only so much of her grandmother that she can take...).

I just realized a time and place has been decided for 'Fest. I didn't know because I haven't even looked at this thread more than a couple times in the last several months. As I've told a couple of you, I'm not in good financial shape. I might have to change my username to Eric Moneywaster. I figure if I'm going to spend any money on any sort of vacation, I should do it with Christy. She's going to have to deal with the debts I've rung up, so she should at least get to participate when any future debts are incurred. Seems only fair. And though she tried to read LFB, she didn't get too far. Also, she thinks we're all weird for becoming as close as some of us claim to be. All in all, a 'Fest isn't exactly the kind of thing she'd much look forward to.

So yesterday, Menolly was asking if I could manage Alb., and I was explaining it to her. I didn't even get into the part about how Christy's ex is a... Well, it's a family site, so I won't get too graphic. But in the seven years they've been apart, their two sons have spent maybe three nights with him. He just can't be bothered with them. He'll see them most Saturdays for at least a few hours, if she drives them to his house and picks them up. And, since, as every parent knows, parents need breaks from their kids, or else they turn to the Dark Side, she does it.

So we're just talking today, and I jokingly said, "Hey. How 'bout sending your kids to their father for a weekend in June, and you and me go to Albuquerque to hang out with my internet friends?" Well, the short answer is

I'LL BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The long answer is that it's important to me, so it's important to her. And we'll do something she wants to do next year. With this much notice, we can arrange it with her mother, and tell her ex that he'll have to take them for at least some parts of the weekend.

HAVE I EVER MENTIONED HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS WOMAN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!

So don't make me read the last dozen pages, tell me who's coming and what the plans are!!

Having met Chr-sty, I knew if you told her how important elohimfest was to you, and the fact that it only happens every few years, she would encourage you to go. And she's coming too! Awesome!!

Are y'all flying into Denver via Islip? Or did you find a better fare?

Once I can afford to buy my ticket, my plan is to fly either out of Tampa or Orlando and arrive in Denver Thursday morning. I have an online friend I have been friends with since I first came online (uhm...1994 or so?) whom I have never met IRL who lives in Denver. I hope to get to have lunch with her or something. Then I'll meet Damelon and aliantha that afternoon or evening.

dAN may be flying with me from Tampa, and it has been suggested I ask if Tom is interested in coming as well.

Friday morning we'll all convoy together to Albuquerque. I've been invited to either sleep on a coach or with the baby (awww...) at danlo's, or to share a tent with aliantha in danlo's yard. I've also volunteered to help Tam cook, so get thee over to The Galley and post some menu suggestions. You've attended elohimfest before, so you have some idea of which meals I should plan for.

aliantha is flying out of Albuquerque on Tuesday, so on Monday Damelon and I (and possibly dAN and Tom) will drive back to Denver. If I get the flight I'm hoping for when I book my tickets, my flight leaves Denver at 4:00 pm MT on Monday.
