danlo, how bad does the weather get in Albuquerque in June? Could we rent a reception tent or two to do the interviews/cook bar-be-que under? Would that be comfortable for everyone if the weather does whatever it is you're worried about? Would the cost be comparable to having the interview in another place?

Good question, Menolly!!

danlo? I'm from washingon. I get excited when it hits 65 degrees, and I start bitching at about 72. How bad is it going to be??

I know. I'm going to have to wear practically nothing all weekend. /sigh.

Oh well. It's for a good cause.

Oh god! The weather's not bad at all...I was worried about rain, that's all. Ever since our 8 year drought broke, you never know what's going to happen. However it is sunny here most of the time-but we did get a record snowfall this year and it did rain quite a bit in late June last year.

As I remember it was a little hot at E-fest '04 but it didn't really bother anyone...except when we toured Old Town in Monday afternoon. And Men there's no humidity here--if you all drink lots of water you'll be fine. Your sweat evaporates immediately...so you can't really tell how dehydrated you are. Temps in early June can range from 70 to 85 F and the temperate cools down in the evening. Windy season ends mid-May so there won't be a bunch of dust and allergens around, some-juniper and elmwood.

That's what I figured. If I can live with 97º temps with 99% humidity here, I should have no problems in Albuquerque...

$80 is pretty good, and it helps to have danlo's stamp of approval...but I went through priceline and got a room at the Country Inn & Suites at the airport for $55 a night, which comes to about $60 with fees and such. Seems like a bargain, and based on danlo's description of the area, very close to where I need to be.

Wow.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.

maybe it's just me, but an 8 year drought in a desert seems somehow appropriate. desert sun and all :)

No. I doubt anybody, especially Waddley, would want to watch the spectacle of me ogling her.

If you're tattoo is not one of the attractions of this Elohimfest, second only to the famous author, then I don't know what would be. So wear something skimpy and backless, please. :)

Well, maybe a little bit.
