I know, I know.....

I suppose I could go on about how I don't approve of this girl...and how she's not right for him......LALALALALLALALA

But we've all heard this before.

Guys, I'll do my best, stay out of the way, and be bored stiff for the next month or so, I PROMISE!

But I still feel like garbage. :p And I miss my friend.

 Guns! Well, if you WEREN'T married, I'd say yes! (I don't do married men as I respect their wives too much!) ;)

And LR, that is unfortunately the way the world works. I had many male friends who sort of 'left me by the wayside' once they got a regular gf. And yes, the gf is probably to blame for the separation. They get jealous (didn't help that with one guy I WAS his ex - it's just that we were such good mates we didn't want to give the friendship up even tho the lurrrve was gone) I lost touch with him for about a couple of years, yet he did eventually break up with that gf & made contact with me again. Only thing I'd advise is, if your guy friend DOES come back, DON'T sleep with him! Unless you want more from your relationship of course... ;)

I doubt that you're horrible, Drew. I expect that you're human like the rest of us. But like Balon said, we'll be here when you need us. |G

If that was an option, he probably wouldn't be out looking for a girlfriend!

More than a year after I started my glamerous job as receptionist extraordinaire, I've finally decided to set up a little radio that I found a while back in a box of stuff the old receptionist had.

I feel like a kid who just got a shiny red fire truck for Christmas. I get to listen to music!! (very, very quietly) Yay!!

Today is my third day smoke free.

It sucks.

I want a cigarette.

But I will be strong.

Glad for your discovery Wadds!

Drew, man...you have GOT to take a vacation.

Elfy...you are the best.

As for me. I'll know more about what is what with my bro on Thursday. The radiologist is saying one thing and the Oncologist another. Thursday will tell many tales. Keep sending me and my brother good thoughts watchmates!

Yep. Your body is craving the stimulant. Same thing happens when you dump caffeine. Ride it out. After about 3 weeks the physical symptoms disappear.

I'll second that. Quitting is really the only option. Lost both my parents before they were 50. If you're having a tough time, give yourself a good slap in the face and think about it. That seems to work for almost anything.

Feeling pretty good today, had my first round of golf of the year, and considering I haven't hit a ball for about 5 months, I wasn't too rusty.
Second round scheduled for Friday (weather permitting), and I'll be looking to improve one todays showing. Had a handicap of 14 last year, and am hoping to get it down to at least 10 by the time I'm 41 (Sept 11th)

As for those giving up smoking - I wish you well. It's a tough one to crack, but the benefits are clear for everyone to see when you've quit. I'll be giving up this year sometime.......hopefully.

What about those nicotine patches? are they any good - do they help? If so, try them. At least the shaking will stop.

YOu gotta persevere, all you brilliant 'quitters'!! Just think of the most precious thing in your life, and could you bear to leave them before your time?

I've got some of the lozenges for when I really need a fix, but I try and avoid them when I can. My boyfriend's mother "quit" 6 years ago, but she is still hooked on the gum. I don't want that to happen to me.

Of course one of my big triggers to smoke is drinking, so no drinks at the pub until I kick the habit. Luckily the BF is very supportive and will sit there sipping soda with me so I don't feel too weird.

Lorelei, I don't know if you have read any of the previous stuff here but the sad fact of the matter is that my twin brother has small-cell cancer courtesy of smoking. As he said yesterday..."Tell anyone who smokes that Joe Camel's penis-like nose will not protect you, and you are not invulnerable".
