Pariah (Xbox)

Anyone got an opinion on this one... I love 1st person shooters. This title is with Half-Life 2 in a double pack on sale. I have been looking for a copy of Half-life 2 forever at a reasonable price, but even used copies are nearly $30.00. Thispack cost almost $30.00 but jusy want to know if Pariah is any good (will likely buy it anyway...)

Well, it's never going to get near HL2 as far as I'm concerned, but it did bring me a little bit of fun after I got "Post-Halo2, Pre-Half Life2 fever"!

You get to drive some machines, and the weapon upgrades are kinda fun (I loved sniping!). The AI is not exactly amazing, and the graphics are variable at times. For once, the plot isn't that dumb (compared to many other decent games).

Anyway, unless you're expecting something groundbreakingly awesome, if you stick with it you'll probably have a laugh or two.

Ok, first off off-topic. A pariah is something like an outcast, right?

Like a leper?!

I really need to get Half Life. People have been telling me about it forever and a day, and I've never played it. Anyway, one of my friends who's a fan of it has been ranting about this too.

Your post made me start replaying Half Life 2.
It's so cool!
It's got the best elements from various sci-fi books and films: I've spotted the sterilisation of humans from "Children of Men", the Walkers from "Tripods" (The White Mountains etc), headcrabs/zombies similar to the "Bodysnatchers", "Aliens" etc, 1984 references, and they're just off the top of my head!

erm Pariah's pretty good too, but I played it before HL2. Maybe I'll think differently now....

Dammit, I'll give you the money to get HL2 if you haven't already!
