Excellent ending.

Dharma Covered up the crash?
I hate juliette, she better die soon.
I agree with charlie, i would have taken Mikhail back and let Syaid have a ''word'' with him.

Jin beating up makhial was ace as well.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.

Well, the Tail section landed in the water and probably had bodies strapped in the seats still. The Fuselage washed out to sea, and may have still had the charred remains in it. Seems to me, the others probably jus helped those plane pieces make it out into open water for the authorities to find.

... or, maybe everyone really did die on flight 518.

It was a HUGEST clue that they put Juliet to sleep before bringing her to the island. There is one very juicy hypothesis you could draw from that.

What is your theory Wayfriend?

Clearly Mikhail is one of three things:

1) Himslef. he did not die whn Lock pushed him throught the Sonic field.

2) Smoky. Smoky has taken another form to judge folks.

3)
Spoiler
A Double. Could it be the Dharma has been in their experiments over the years perfected cloning ..in fact enhancements to human subject via cloning? Is this why Lock can walk...because he is a copy Is this why Jin can now impregnate his wife? Why Rose lives? Is this why John is called a "good one"? Because he was a known replacant that they want to test some more?

God i really hope it doesnt turn out to be purgatory. The producers have already said it isnt and i hope they dont go back on their word.

I wonder if it could not be
Spoiler
virtual reality, with the survivors unaware that it is.
That would explain every single thing.

I'd burn my DVD's if it was either purgatory or VR. (why did you make that a spoiler anyway, that's not a fact, just a theory).

Anyway, yes an excellent last 30 seconds with a big piece of info. Dharma must have had planned this thing from the beginning, perhaps for months or years, crashing the airline on the island; not an accident of fate, as Ben would have us believe. There is no way Dharma could have taken advantage of this and then scrambled to put Flight 815 debris into the water elsewhere to put off the scent from the real flight. This took years of planning.

Anyways, that's my theory without spoilers. ;)

I just don't understand why everyone has to come up with all these complicated theories of faking a crash. The simple explantion is the wreckage in the water (The tail crashed in the water, the fuselage washed out to sea) was dragged into open waters to be found by the proper authorities.

The Tail sunk in shallow water; we've seen no typhoons to cause it to be dragged deeper out to sea. We've seen (mostly in season 1 eps) most all of the broken up fuselage parts on the island (cabin, body, 1 wing), so I don't think that is a valid possibility. We've even seen it explode over the island proper. Even if it were a possibility that search teams found parts miles away, then don't you think the search team would have made a 100mi + diameter search to look for the rest and then spot the island and look for survivors? Or do you agree that the island is invisible so even if a ship is within sight of the island, they would not see it? That would be the only explaination.

But for once, unlike in the Tank, I am going to jump on this and say it is a conspiracy years in the making! ;)

I beg to disagree. The simplest theory is that the authorities lied. They don't want anyone looking for the survivors.

Does a broken plane float? I don't think so. Nor do they drift.

Ben was a little TOO surprised when that plane crashed. He runs to that shack and demands the info about everyone on the plane. So the Others were certainly not in on it before hand.

(And I use spoilers in case you want to figure it out the answer by yourself.)

Actually the fuselage got washed out to sea by high tides.

I wasn't saying the plane pieces made it out by themselves, the others have a sub, that could have helped those pieces make their way out to open sea.

I'm not sure invisible is neccessarily the right word, but, obviously some form of that word.

Why would the authorities lie? The conspiracy can't be that big.

Yeah, and furthermore, it has already been heavily suggested that Desmond not pushing the button brought down the plane. I'm going with the simpliest suggestion that the authorities just said they found it and all were dead. I don't quite understand how they lady knew about flight 815, as planes go down now and again, and most people don't pay a lot of attention to it unless they knew someone on board. Which could be a possibility with the new lady.

Do you suppose maybe JJ Abrams is using the "Langoliers"* principle?

(*remember that novella by Stephen King about a plane that disappears through some kind of time rift?)

Could be. The creators of the show are known Stephen King fans.

There was an interview with the biggies on Lost with Stephen King several months back in Entertainment Weekly. It was a really good article, and they admitted their love of Stephen King's works. Also, they admitted that the 23 in the numbers was a nod to Robert Anton Wilson. I'm still waiting to find out if the 42 is a nod to Douglas Adams.

By the way, kickass episode last night. But predictable.

Was it just me, or did Dad seem like he was asking for it a little TOO much? It was almost like he was begging for it. Makes me think he was something someone concocted for John's test, and not the real deal.

I won't be utterly shocked if Locke opens his bag to show Ben his kill and Smokey wafts out, but, I'm pretty sure it was really Cooper.

Cooper thought he was already dead and in Hell, so he had nothing to lose, and was just standing up to Satan. He knows Locke is Dead because Flight 815 has no survivors.

Loved the way they slipped Danielle into that scene grabbing up the dynamite:

Hi John
Oh, Hi Danielle
Dynamite?
Yea, it's over there in those cases
Thanks, See Ya
Good to see you too
(Paraphrased)

So slick the way they slid it in during a tense scene so we wouldn't think too much about it, but, I believe she has big plans for the Dynamite, she's not just restocking for her everyday booby traps, IMHO. I just really hope she doesn't accidentally kill Alex, that would be heartbreaking. But as much trauma as the writers have put her through, i believe they are evil enough to go Greek Tragedy and leave her reunion with Alex to be Alex dying in her arms.
