1) I am not aware of anyone who is intending to attack your followers, but I certainly cannot guarantee such is not the case. And if they are, they are not likely to care whether or not your followers are in Landir, in the new lands, or anywhere between. In addition, as you may learn, our followers often act against our wishes; even against our orders.

If you want to protect your followers wherever they are, you will have to do it yourself. I will not go to war for the likes of you, whether any attack against you was intended by any deity or not.

2-4, however, are fine.

2) Of course. If I wanted to harm your followers, I would simply harm them. No point in going through the trouble of transporting them to an unsafe location. In any event, if you wish to take O-gon-cho up on her offer, I can give the DRP to her, so she can use it to strengthen her dragons for the flights. In which case, your followers would be set down wherever you and she decided.

3) At the moment, I am not able to come up with a reason why I would not want any followers of yours out of Landir. I will always be glad to try to facilitate their departure. And, while I will not be your personal transport service, it is always possible that I'll have a ship that can be used to take your people away.

4) While I don't disagree with this (see #3), it is not possible to guarantee. But, if I give the DRP to O-gon-cho, her dragons will take however many they can take.
Agreed. Give the DRP to o-gon-cho ... her dragons may transport my followers. *bows*

HOW DARE YOU TWO BARTER WITH MY POWERS!!!!!!

ANY BLESSINGS ON TRAVEL MUST BE REQUESTED TO ME DIRECTLY AND NOT THROUGH MY HUSBAND, BHAKTI!!!!! ASTA, YOU HAD BEST LEARN YOUR PLACE IN EIRAN BECAUSE I CAN MAKE YOUR STAY HERE VERY SHORT INDEED!! YOU HAVE JUST MADE A VERY GRAVE MISTAKE.

I AM INCENSED AND INFURIATED THAT YOU TWO WOULD DARE TO PRESUME THAT MY POWERS ARE FOR YOUR LIGHT DISCUSSION. BHAKTI I AM APPALLED THAT YOU WOULD NOT EVEN CONSULT ME ON THIS POINT. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT MY POWERS ARE FOR YOU TO USE AS YOU PLEASE????

THINK AGAIN, MY HUSBAND.

I AM INSULTED GREATLY BY BOTH OF YOU AND DEMAND APOLOGY IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Let me make this perfectly clear: I WILL NOT GIVE FREE PASSAGE AND A TRAVEL BLESSING FOR ANY FUTURE FOLLOWERS OF asta. I AM ONLY DOING IT NOW BECAUSE I WAS ASKED BY BHAKTI.

BUT BECAUSE OF THE INSULT OF NOT BEING CONSULTED ON FUTURE TRAVEL OF ASTA'S FOLLOWERS, THEY SHALL TRAVEL AT THEIR OWN PERIL!!!!!!!!

*sighs* friend ... cousin Bahkti ... I did not think it possible ... but your wife ... goddess PMS!!

Perhaps YOU want to stay on Immeril until your WENCH calms down? You will be welcome ... as will any of your retinue ... I understand your need to get away from such YELLING!! *deep chuckles*

Are you sure you do not want me to take her off your hands? I know you said she could not clean ... cook ... or offer other domestic skills. Perhaps we could give her to our armies!! I would play you in a game of luck, friend Bahkti, to see whose army uses her first!!

I must admit tho ... the CHAOTIC thoughts and emotions that come from the WENCH ... please me! *laughs heartily*

While I agree these two l-rdlngs have overstepped their bounds with you, please do not withdraw your blessing for safe travels from my weyrlings. They are youngsters, and are making their first flights across the great waters. Your blessing would still be greatly appreciated by me.

The god draws her hood forward again, lowers her head. "Grief is present wherever there is love. Wherever there is death. I am wherever there is life." She raises a hand to forestall him-- "I know. That was not your meaning." Turning her back on him, she takes a few small steps forward, passing just outside of the pool of light. Shadows wrap themselves around her form. "Do you remember the accordance made between us, so long ago?" Or simply raises an eyebrow, and she laughs. "Of course you do. Then you remember that your duty will last until I release you from it." She turns in the shadows, to look into his dark eyes. "It has been a very long time, Eldest."
"It has, goddess. And yet I tire not of it, if that is what you wish to ask. When you live as long as I have lived, you cannot help but learn patience, as well as a certain... appreciation for peace and solitude."
Maeror smiles, the features just visible at the edge of the light. "I am glad to hear it, Or. I do not wish to lose your service yet. But I fear I shall have to disturb your peace." Blotted by shadow, her features could belong to anyone. Hooded and robed, her feminine shape could easily be missed. And her voice has gained a strange property as she has spoken, seeming in one moment up close, warm and personal, and in the next moment to emerge from some far depth, low and resonant with power. No longer the semblance of mortal woman. "We have a task for you to perform."

O-gon-cho, it is for your dragons that I have blessed their crossing - THIS TIME - certainly not for Asta's benefit!

He makes light of his insult to me and how could I expect anything but idiocy from him? Because of his idiocy, I stand by my word and will make any future travel of his followers to be difficult indeed.
But this Bahkti ... I am coming to like his sense of humor!! I 'bestow' upon you the DOMAIN of 'humor'!!
OLD JOKE, ASTA! I used it first in naming you JESTER! How soon they forget. Then again, Asta has not said anything original since his birth here in the Pantheon.

And I YELL because you seem to respond rashly without hearing what is being said by your BETTERS - which happens to be every other god in the Pantheon.
Bah!! The WENCH should be honored that I notice her at all!!
Yes, keep an eye on me, Asta. Keep a very close eye.

And do not take too much pleasure at my anger because you glean no power from it. It is neither destructive nor chaotic. Just the opposite. It is very controlled and focused - ON YOU.

Jove,

You know me. You know I do not take you for granted. You know I do not intend insult. Truly, I apologize for the way this seems.

However, because of our private communications, I believe there is a misunderstanding. Here:
kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=478122#478122
I said "(And I might be able to get the Goddess of Travel to bless the journey ;))" That is all I have asked of you. A simple word to the Allfather. Since you did not say anything about it, I assumed you agreed. After all, getting Chaos and Destruction off of Landir is a good thing, eh? No DRP required at all. Not even one that I give you. I'm giving a DRP to O-gon-cho, so she can strengthen her dragons for the journey. What I had thought your silence was an agreement to was a simple blessing.

EDIT:
Oh, also:

I wasn't promising him anything from you in this regard. I will likely try to help him remove his followers from Landir at times. Not with DRP's, but, as I said, I have some ships that might be used from time to time.

Bhakti, I agreed to give a blessing THIS time. You asked me and I was happy to oblige. Just because I agreed to the first time does not mean that it is an open invitation to assume I will bless his followers' travel over and over again. AND, just because I was busy attending to other matters and did not respond to your promises immediately, it does not mean that I am in agreement.

You bartered my powers (with a god, I might add, who has continuously insulted me and threatened every god on the Pantheon) when you agreed to this:

Bhakti wrote:

The third condition (the one between two and four) that Asta made was that I would give a travel blessing to future followers who hear the call of chaos and destruction. Your response that it is 'fine' implies that my powers are yours for the taking.

If Asta is such a powerful god, let HIM get his future followers to HIS land on his own ticket. My blessings are better used for those who deserve them!

ALSO, if Asta had wanted the passage of his followers blessed, he should have asked ME directly instead of bartering my powers with my husband! He seems to be under the impression that you are my keeper. WHAT A FOOL HE IS to truly believe that I am not an autonomous goddess in my own right!

Ah. Yes. I see what you mean. Truthfully, I was concentrating on the "may have free passage" part of what AK said, and hadn't given much thought to the part about you. I apologize for my lack of attention to the detail. I most certainly did not mean it the way it came out. I would never presume to speak for you, much less make promises for your future actions.

AK, to be clear... As I said, I will always want your followers off of Landir, and would be pleased if you and I could peacefully arrange for such. Without using DRP's, I will be glad to let them ride in one of my ships. Slower than O-gon-cho's dragons, to be sure, but it's free, and I hope it will help avoid hostilities between us. But my Wife speaks for herself.

 It is true that being Married to me gives Jove carte blanche to smack me around in public when I have earned it.

Of course, another part of being Married is receiving Love - of such intensity, in all of Love's myriad forms, from the most glorious goddess - as cannot be described in words.

As I just told Jove, what seemed like I was speaking for her was simply sloppy work on my part. In my rush to get this straightened out before it was too late, I wasn't paying enough attention. But even before this incident, my Wife has always made it clear that she likes to speak for herself. She's not much for the "damsel in distress" role.

As for my "safety," it is true that she causes me to die the little death on what might be a dangerously frequent basis.

Ah, that is what I needed to hear, my dearest husband. :swoon:
