Just as a clarification, to make sure there are no misunderstandings re: the voting process.
As I said, you can vote three creation myths, listing them from most to least favored. When calculating votes, the creation myth you vote first is worth 1 full vote; the second one is worth 1/2 a vote; and the third one is worth 1/4 of a vote. This helps in building a list of winners while reducing the chance for a tie.
As an update, I already received three PMs for voting purposes!

I updated the rules to address a loophole in the newbie protection rule whose existence I recently realized. From now on, if a deity who is enjoying newbie protection (the 4 turns in which he cannot be attacked) willingly attacks another deity (directly or indirectly, with his own power and/or the power bestowed by others), he or she forfeits the newbie protection, meaning that the attacked deity can retaliate even if the attacker ascended less than 4 turns before. This is to prevent situations in which a newly ascended deity is sent against an older deity, after being boosted with power from other deities, in order to harm the attacked deity while hiding behind the newbie protection rule.

AllFather...
:::eyebrows rising:::
Is this new rule retroactive? Or, are the current ones under said protection exempt from it until their four turns are up, since they joined the game under different possibilities?
:::not that I would think of taking part in any such devious plans:::

I don't know why such a rule is needed!! I'd vote for the existing newbies being exempted!O-gon-cho wrote:AllFather...

Fair is fair...

Nuh-uh. Not me...

Existing newbies are not exempted from the rule... IF they attack another deity from now on, they'll lose newbie protection. Attacks which happened this turn are allowed, since the rule was only published today; but from Turn 19 on, the rule is in effect for everyone.Astavyastataa Kadna wrote:I don't know why such a rule is needed!! Ah...OK. As long as it doesn't affect Turn 19 (you did mean starting with next Turns submittals, Turn 20 on?). That just would not be fair if anyone did take advantage of said loophole this past Turn submittal.Xar wrote: Existing newbies are not exempted from the rule... IMHO...of course.

Interesting. I have a strong suspicion as to who it is; perhaps a little friend of ours who is running around offering his 'services' to everyone. It does not matter, for I revel in such games.
"Oh of course," the Navigator said with faint mocking in his voice, "you have probably heard of House Praetus. We have a palace on Holy Terra. Like all powerful groups, we also have our enemies. Do you honestly think someone like you matters?" - A dissolute noble.

welllll...
Nor's goin on about whose actions instigated the Allfather "claryifying" the rules. looks to me like he's speculating out loud as to who that might have been,
and Murrin is implying (by using the objective case of we, us) that he was "offered some services" and that he was able to resist said offer but he assumes others weren't.
that's the best i can make out. fairly straightforward.

not necessarily.O-gon-cho wrote:But...
Said rule change by the AllFather implies some pretty heavy stuff...?
just means that he found a loophole due to activity in the game.
he's clarifying.
it's not a "change" in the rules, it's a clarification that has not, heretofore in gameplay, needed clarification.
it makes total sense to clarify that point at this point in the game.

I don't want to whine, truly I don't but...
Why???
What is going on "at this point in the game" that, as usual, is flying right over my head? Players commenting on this rule change with the remarks they have, coming out of the blue as far as I know, is making me nervous. And I don't know why.
