It's a good possibility that CBS has decided to renew Jericho for at least 8 episodes midseason, so at the very least it can be tied up properly. Looks like you fans may have accomplished your goal with the Nuts campaign

They're gonna do reruns in the summer, and put the episdoes and clips online, and release the DVD set on Sept 25, and are asking for help to raise the viewership (IE: if you're a fan, try to hook your friends).
Mid season, they'll do 7 episodes to tie it up, and apparently if the ratings improve enough during those 7 episodes they'll do more.
They are going to be more careful this time to watch all the numbers, not just the Neilsens for "On air viewing"

I watched the first 5 or 6, but, the Post-apocalyptic genre isn't a favorite of mine, so I stopped watching.
However, it's a pretty good show, if you like the genre, and since I know the pain of having a favorite show cancelled without resolution (Farscape, Tru Calling...), I have been supportive of the fans in any way I can by spreading the word, writing letters, signing the petitions, etc
If you like the genre, definitely try it out, and the second half of the season is apparently even better than the first half.
