Can't argue with much of that-those are some pretty bad movies. I thought Battle for the Planet of the Apes was, kinda, fun way back in the day (especially compared to other films that came out at the time) and definately thought that Attack of the Clones was ten times worse the Phantom Menace. (...and how can you even hope to recreate Weekend at Brenie's? It's like beating a dead... :P :P :P)

How does Highlander II not make this list? I agree with most of the films listed but I've seen worse than some of those. Much worse. Heh. Star Trek V should have been number one but that's just me. :-)

I agree with you, danlo. I've seen much worse than Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Not the best, no. But not all that bad.

Any of the Highlander sequels for that matter.

I'll tell you one thing: I watched Conan the Destroyer at a $2 matinee best darn nap I ever took in my life--and I still want the little blonde!

Even though Angie Everhart is very hot (she can't really act)-the sequel to 9 and 1/2 Weeks stank--as a matter of fact the sequel to Wild Orchid was worse--probably the worst movie ever!

See, the bar wasn't set real high with the first Conan film, so I found the second one enjoyable as well.

And there was Mr. Roberts, and its absolutely unwatchable sequel, Ensign Pulver. So bad most people don't even know it exists. Now that's a bad sequel.

Godfather III wasn't great but it's not bad enough to be on this list.

Funny. The first thing that came to my mind too was Highlander II.

Conan the Destroyer I found more fun than the first one. And like was said, it sure didn't set the bar that high. So, yes, I would say Red Sonja was much worse. I paid good money for that one.

Hell, you might as well pick on the sequels of Beastmaster.

I didn't think Legally Blonde 2 was any less than Legally Blonde original. If you like one, I would think you'd like the other?

Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation was horrible, and I haven't seen it myself, but, understand the sequel to Rosemary's Baby was awful

25. THE MATRIX RELOADED (2003)

...Sci-fi droolers had four whole years of pent-up expectations and time wasted dissecting the first chapter's metaphysical riddles. And after all that waiting, what did they get? A laughable techno rave in Zion with a lot of slo-mo sweat and revelers in hemp clothing. It's like a Lenny Kravitz video directed by Bob Guccione.
 A Lenny Kravitz video directed by Bob Guccione! Perfect!
12. STAR WARS: EPISODE I — THE PHANTOM MENACE (1999)

...The dread kicks in during the opening scroll with its eye-glazing backstory about Trade Federations and taxation routes. We didn't wait 20 years for a lecture on supply-side economics!
I could not agree more.

These two, plus Star Trek V and Batman & Robin are the only films on the list I've seen. Guess that means I'm fairly good at avoiding bad sequels. I thought ST V and Batman&Robin were truly awful, but Phantom Menace and Matrix Reloaded had enough good things to balance the bad.

I'm surprised Superman IV didn't make it into their Top 25. But I guess they felt it was merely the last wretched act of a franchise that had gone downhill since Superman II. I'd have to agree. But I'd still put this stinker on the No. 25 spot way before any of the Matrix sequels.

"Dumb and Dumberer" and "Conan the Destroyer" were indeed terrible movies.

My worst sequals

1. Highlander II AND III
2. Blair Witch Project II -- sucked so bad I walked out
3. Matrix Reloaded
4. Oceans 12 (hated it -- cheap theatrics, and Julia playing herself -- c'mon. )

5. 2010 - roy schneider couldnt pull that one out, IMO

6. Jaws II, III and 4 --- UUUUGGHHHH!!!!

Oh, hell no - 2010 is one of those rare finds, a sequel that is better than the original. I absolutely love this movie.
