YOU could do EVIL?Jove wrote:We will miss you, Lore. You were an excellent player.
I have an idea to balance things out for the next game. I don't know if it would work very well but it is a thought.
Get the number of people who are going to play and then Xar could roll the dice to see who is good, who is evil, and who is neutral.
For example, say we have 15 players. Five would be good, five evil, and five neutral.
We could still pick our domains but we would have to play the characters as their alignment.
This at least solves the problem of all the good gods ganging up on the evil ones.

I really like this idea. It would do away with a lot of the clear and distinguished lines that make it so hard to work with. A god of Justice is on a short leash when Xar wants to pull, but a God of Honor and Combat? Could go both ways.Fist and Faith wrote:
Anyway...
I have a thought. I know it will be shot down, but let's do some brainstorming.
How about we do away with the "good" and "evil" domains. We can have Illusion, Mutation, Nature, Trade, Undead, Life, Death, etc. But not the ones that would, basically, tell what your morality is. No Love, Malice, Assassins... There seems little hope that the God of Malice is going to be working toward Peace. The God of Love isn't going to assassinate the other deities' prophets.
But the God of Forests might. And the God of Mutation might be trying to help all the other deities fulfill their dreams.
Threats by someone wouldn't be automatically taken seriously or dismissed. The deity's track record would be much more important. Someone who is helping everyone might actually be evil, and putting remote control bombs everywhere, to be exploded when everything is in readiness. Alliances would be important, and good or evil deities could be acting together, with the rest of the deities entirely unaware.
When Bhakti the 1st met Argothoth, he was nervous. But he asked Argothoth what the undead are like, and was delighted to learn that they could Love just like everybody else.

Happy birthday! And congratulations to Murrin too!Balon wrote:Thanks Mennoly.
Also, unless Lore or Xar says otherwise, I assume that I am now planning as though Nor is dead?
If this is the case, then the Pantheon can expect some drastic changes in Adomorn.Murrin was right. The game goes on.
Ohhh-Kay...Xar wrote: I do have an additional idea which would add another level of complexity to the Pantheon 3.0 game... another level of intrigue, so to speak, by grouping players according not to morality but to another, more esoteric kind of categories, depending on their domains, so that you could have "good" and "evil" players in the same category and strengthening or weakening each other according to their own actions (for instance, you could have Justice and Tyranny, represented by two gods, in the same category, so that if Justice strengthens itself Tyranny also reaps the benefits, and vice versa). This would require some thought about how to ensure no unfairness, but I have ideas and I'll have to work on them.
What???Xar wrote:In any case, all these ideas won't be used until Pantheon 3.0, which - unless I'm mistaken - is not so far away, given that I doubt war is over, even with Nor's disappearance...
I was thinking more-or-less exactly this on the way home from work today. It's very annoying when you want to make a deal with the god of mutation but can't cos of the malice, or the god of forests and can't because of the love!Anyway...
