No, you denied Esmer the basic human right of existence by not adding him in the first place!.
He wasn't online at the time - I assumed he was in a quantum state - superpositions, if you will. To place him in the game would be like making an a priori observation. Kind of like Schrodinger's Cat, only the quantum Esmers wouldn't be observed and hence the probabilistic wave form of the Esmer superpositions would collapse before actual observation.
Anyway, it's my game!!!!!
