I don't get it with the package we have. There's two major cable companies here and I'm on the other. Have seen it once or twice, though. HR Puf'n'stuf was on it!
Do you think I like being this dangerous?

Oh man... when I was in elementary that is all I would watch. Plus the shows were so much cooler back then  Like Salute your Shorts and Pete and Pete...etc... they used to have this game show where the winning little kid coiuld take a shopping cart through toys R us and fill it with everything and anything in a certain amout of time... my life long ambition was to be on that show!

Heh, they've got the On Air Dare now. Last one I saw was the one where you had to sing the national anthem while wearing a diaper.

Btw, Morrigan here, far to lazy to log in.

Way back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth, I was around for the birth of Nickelodeon. I watched Pinwheel as a tot, but my favorite shows were Belle and Sebastian, and You Can't Do That On Television. (Don't say "I don't know" ) Then later on I loved Double Dare. I seem to remember big chunks of time when there was nothing on that channel at all, because they wanted to use only their own original programming, and they didn't have enough material to fill all their time slots at first.

Oh - I love Pete and Pete (especially the episodes when Pete the older go on a school-bus-trip and when Pete the younger finds the "tester of underpants nr 32")!

Heh, kids. Back in my day, when Nickolodean first came out, there was nothing on but some talk show called Livewire that seemed to last for 3 hours, Ripley's Believe it or Not, some weird brit sci-fi shows (one of which about the third eye I wish I could find reruns of today... another about bouncing balls that killed people), Picture Pages with Bill Cosby, You Can't Do That on Television, and then what was probably the lamest kids' show ever, Pinwheel. Things started to turn around a bit when they started showing Danger Mouse, Turkey Television (weird brit humor and Weird Al), Double Dare, and so on. Eventually there was some good stuff like Pete and Pete, Ren & Stimpy, and such, but the last time I looked, it was all crap.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

What I think is particularly interesting about Ren and Stimpy is the background-music. It is always classical pieces. With short brakes of lovely tunes such as HappyHappyJoyJoy and The Log Theme Song :D

I didn't at first but my daughter turned me on to SpongeBob. It beats her killing me with the Rugrats. Its actually pretty freaky. Don't tell her I said so. :-) Cat Dog is pretty disturbing. How do they... you know...go to the.. you know?

Well, I guess it might be kinda like a tapeworm.

Yay, you like Spongebob Squarepants! How 'bout them FairlyOddParents?

Dang, I wonder what the inside of his mind is like....

A tapeworm? Yikes. Fairly Odd Parents are pretty cool although my daughter doesn't watch that show as much.

Me too! The school-bus-trip was the best episode ever.
