Trouble refreshing.

Post by Landwaster »

I seem to have strife refreshing a screen.

Sometimes when I go into the site, it doesn't update. It shows how it was an age ago, a day or a few hours, whatever.

That's ok. I can refresh with a Ctrl-F5 (super-refresh).

But in KW, refresh often takes me back to the homepage (outside the forum). Then, when I navigate back inside, its unrefreshed. As if it refreshed the front page only.

Any ideas?

The refresh genrally has something to do with your cache settings but I'm not sure if you're having the problem with KW only or with other sites as well

Yeah, I know. That is kinda annoying. Try this though. Instead of pressing the Refresh button at the top, right-click and select Refresh from the menu. That should work.-jay

You're using the URL 'kevinswatch.com' then clicking the link to here, right? www.kevinswatch.com is a cloaked url, so every page you go to has the same URL in the address bar. Clicking the Refresh button on the browser reopens the URL in the Address bar, so it takes you back to the homepage instead of refreshing the page you're on.
Thats why I always use the long URL if the short one is cloaked - I tend to refresh pages often.

Yeah Murrin that's because I've never seen a forum address up there, from memory. Had no starting point.

But voila! Its up there now!

Yep all fixed, I now have the forums separately bookmarked, and go in via that now, rather than via the K-Dub home page.

Thanks folks!

I don't know what that is ... but I think here we have laws against smuggling them into the country for brothel work!
