Flower of Doom:An epic from the minds of dAN & TOM C

Post by aTOMiC »

A story so monumental it took two legendary authors to complete. Gaze upon this wonder of fiction and be dismayed.

FLOWER OF DOOM

The watchtower was shaken to its very foundation as Bayoman's army surged up the hills lining the perimeter of Southerland castle. Loose stones dropped from the sides of the massive gray monolith like the bitter tears of a weeping mountain. The irresistible force crashed against the immovable object.

Sentries had sounded the alarm throughout the ancient citadel well in advance of the invading horde but nothing could have prepared them for a force so vast. The surrounding countryside was blanketed by a living tide of malevolence and death.

Thousands of marauders led by dozens of hulking giants, shrugged off attacks by the out numbered, human defenders lining the battlements along the outer walls. It would have only been a matter of time before the gates fell and the castle plundered if not for King Daniel.

The Sorcerer King ascended the throne, pushed the holy launch button and laughed like drunken clown.

The ground shook as the citadel-class spaceship "Southerland Castle" threw off the soil and gravity, which was her port. The fires from her great engines blossomed below her, engulfing the would-be conquerors in a flower of doom.

End

Judging from this and King Dolph, I'd say all this writing is starting to get to Clear...

A little history may be of use here. In his infernal attempts to get me to write, Clear was setting me up with a few partially written stories that I could continue, presumably to their logical conclusion. In this case, Clear wrote all but the last three sentences, hoping that the end product would exceed 2000 words. But, sensing his desire, I opted instead to once again foil his plans, while subsequentially foiling Bayoman's plans, which I shrewdly took to be Clear himself in the story. You'll notice the King is named Daniel of Southerland castle. What you don't immediately realize that the name is a mockery of my own more perfect name, and that once again Clear is trying to kill me off. Upon reading my ending to the story, Clear muttered "Curses! Foiled Again!", which told me that once again, I foiled him.

I hope you aren't suggesting that I might have begun to lose my already fragile grasp on sanity. I submit that it is the calling of destiny that draws these tales from the cycling vortex of my unsteady psyche. Or I’m just in it for a hoot.

Not to worry, Clear: you have to have enough intelligence to be able to be driven mad. That's why it only works on March hens, cows and hatters. More likely you just ate a bad mushroom. Take some Peptol Bismol and I'm sure the visions will go away soon... :screwy:

Who are we to gainsay such as dAN? Is his timing indeed off, or is it that we just fail to perceive his timex-like reflexes? The world is but a stage; we are merely players, performers and portrayers; each another's audience beyond this gilded...cage? page? It doesn't matter now anyway, damn Spot! :screwy:

I quite litterally couldn't and wouldn't put it any better than that. 8O

I wonder if Rush intended for their lyrics to be used in this manner? Or Shakespeare.

What's it to you, you damn dirty, identity stealing, burlap ape? But, if you must insist, then the answer would have to be "no".:screwy:
