I do not think he is stating that someone should go into the mists. It is well known that to do so is not only dangerous but may well end Eiran and the Pantheon altogether.Kadna, if you, or anyone else, goes into the mists... It's a dangerous venture. Not just for the entire pantheon, but for the god himself. I wouldn't try making it more difficult by aggravating the situation. Indeed, my suggestion is to avoid the Allfather entirely, if entering the mists is to be done at all.[/quote]
I actually think he is referring going into the mists as a last resort.

I appreciate the offer, Master Kadna. However, where I go, I do not think you can follow. In preparing for my confrontation with the Planar Beast, I expended effort to make sure I could go after it directly. It is by this method that, with Solus's help, I will go after Nephirthos. I did not make similar preparations for anyone besides myself.
And as there is the celestial battle to be fought, so too must Nephirthos's minions on Eiran be brought to heel. My prophet, Ferax, along with a brave company of dwarrow successfully fought off three of the depraved creatures.
If the mists are to be braved, it must be done delicately, precisely, and stealthily. I think an assassin would be best. However, it is also something that can be done between turns, so it is not necessary to rush into things.

I pledge my people's service in this fight. They will not fail. The Allfather wrote:Ferax dons Sorrow's Child and Gleaming Guard, holding his mighty hammer in his fist. He gathers the Vanguard and tells them of the warlord, but before the Vanguard can leave, voices come from outside, and Ferax hurries to find out what is wrong. As he looks at the sky, he sees what he saw with you in Ferax's Tower - the streaking white comets across the tortured sky, the dark clouds, and the tang of malice in the air. Streaking comets slam into Magoddar, one after the other, frightening your people by reminding them of the meteor shower; from the center of the devastation, where the three largest comets struck, three figures rise from the craters, white-hot humanoids of darkness with green slits for eyes. Their laughter echoes across the devastated peaks of Magoddar, chilling the blood of many of your dwarrows, but Ferax stands undaunted. He steels his heart and knows that the time of doom is upon him and his people; he holds Mjaellar in his hand and knows it is up to him and to the stout-hearted dwarrows of the Vanguard to stop these creatures from destroying the ancestral homeland of the dwarrows. He raises Mjaellar high in the sky and calls:
"Vanguard of Simjen! The time of destiny has come. The enemy has breached Magoddar and will stop at nothing before destroying all we hold dear; let us deny them!" The soldiers, shaken by the creatures, take heart in hearing Ferax's strong voice. "FOR THE PROPHET! FOR SIMJEN!" They cry as the entities begin walking along the path to Magiddo, and the Vanguard charges them!
The battle that follows would be worthy of an epic tale; blows are struck and no quarter is given. The dwarrows fight bravely, each and every one, feeling Ferax's presence among them - a lightning wielding his mighty hammer, donning the ensorcelled armor and shield that make him more than a match for any entity of this world or others. He is everywhere - saving a man's life here, striking a terrible blow there - and despite the heat, the power, the strength of the entities, he is Ferax Snorlson, one of the few original Prophets left alive, and one of the strongest Prophets in Eiran, and he is not alone: he fights with the whole dwarrow race.
When the smoke clears and the battle ceases, half the Vanguard is slain, but Ferax and the survivors stand triumphant as the last wisps of white-hot darkness fade. Ferax turns towards one of his lieutenants. "Gather the army, Lieutenant, and send orders across Magoddar. The enemy is not yet finished."
If the mists are to be braved, it must be done delicately, precisely, and stealthily. I think an assassin would be best. However, it is also something that can be done between turns, so it is not necessary to rush into things.
Said she, "What I get I get out of the fire,
So prithee, strike home and redouble the blow."
So prithee, strike home and redouble the blow."

Perhaps there are several ways ... I have heard a RAVEN call!!
RAVEN OF THE ALL FATHER ... LISTEN TO ME NOW ... WE SEEK THE ALL FATHER'S WISDOM. WHAT MUST WE DO TO DESTROY THIS USURPER? HIS MINIONS; WHILE STRONG CAN BE DEFEATED - AT COST. BUT THIS WORLD BREAKER, DOES WHAT ONLY YOU CAN DO!! WHY DO YOU SANCTION SUCH SACRILLEDGE? WHAT WILL YOU DO TO HELP THIS WORLD SUPPOSEDLY UNDER YOUR CARE?
If Vadhaka will brave the Mists with Stealth and Guile to find out what we must, I will withdraw. But I will NOT sit idly by!! *the maelstrom SEETHES WITH ANGER*
If he does NOT I will go into the Mists ... to learn what I can ... to BATTLE and CONQUEOR the AllFather if I must!

It has been so long, brothers and sisters... I admire Simjen's return, for I cannot tell you what it takes to return from such a slumber. Even retrieving the simplest memory from the fog of time is like trying to remove the bottom-most stone from a wall. For those who may be expecting my return to the Pantheon... *shakes head* No, I am here solely to advise and to guide. And I think Undine has the seas in hand well enough. *soft chuckle and a respectful bow to Undine*
So, allow me to get down to it. After the end of the great war, we banished Nephirthos to the Abyss, the realm beyond even the Outer Darkness. The same chains with which we bound him at the end of the battle were those used to tie him to the Abyss. We could have used a smith like you in those days, Simjen, though I mean no reproach. Instead, I drew upon the lore of the sea and bound Nephirthos with anchor chains, three in total, each one weighted by an anchor, each one blessed by those of us left in the final days.
As Undine can tell you, and contrary to the belief of most landlubbers, an anchor does not halt a ship by digging into the earth. Instead, it relies on its weight, extending it further down to trick the currents below and the winds above into thinking the ship is larger than it actually is. So did the anchors trap Nephirthos into the Abyss, after we hauled him to the edge of the outer darkness and cast him as far as we could. Perhaps if we had been stronger and cast him further... Alas, that act took the last of our strength.
I am certain that Nephirthos has inched himself back over the eons, bringing himself within sight of the outer darkness. And it appears he somehow convinced the denizens of the abyss to aid him, making his return that much shorter. It is also my belief that the actions of the goddess O-gon-cho, unbeknownst to her, were akin to throwing a mooring line to the World Breaker, allowing him to bridge the last few yards. That is inconsequential, however, since he would've been able to do it soon enough without.
And now he strides down the pier of the outer darkness, attempting to free himself of the last anchor that binds him. He sends the minions he recruited in advance, hoping to make his return that much easier.
I have charted the currents of the Abyss. Taking them into account and the time it has taken him to return, I know where he will be found. I will guide Simjen there and offer what aid I can. But it must be done now, while there is still any hope. If he slips the last of his chains... I am not certain all the gods of Eiran, powerful as you may be in comparison to my compatriots at the time, could stop him then.

A raven flies lazily through Magoddar, high among the mountains, near Magiddo; there, where the snow is thick and the air is cold, the raven watches silently as the doors of Magiddo open and dwarrow soldiers emerge, led by a dwarrow of might - enclosed in ensorcelled armor, wielding a magical hammer in his hands, a single eye burning beneath his helmet. The raven caws unconcernedly as it looks at the column of dwarrow soldiers slowly making their way across the mountain.
"The way is clear for now, Vanguard", the one-eyed dwarrow shouts, "but we must hold the path to Magiddo until all our people are safe!"
The Vanguard travels at Ferax's behest, and the raven lazily follows, barely noticed by the soldiers. They are the greatest among dwarrows, hand-picked by Ferax to comprise his Vanguard; their minds are focused on the coming days. Many of them were present during Ferax's dreadful battle - many more joined in the following days. But they know their duty. Settlers and lone families from all around Magiddo are traveling along the path that leads to the mountain fortress - and the beings of white-hot darkness are on their heels. It is up to them to stand for the dwarrow kingdom, to allow the defenseless to flee to safety - no matter if they have to lay down all their lives in the effort.
As the Vanguard marches down the path from Magiddo, many times do they meet lone travelers or huddled families fleeing their houses to seek refuge in Magiddo; their faces full of fright and doubt, only lit by hope when they behold Ferax's lordly countenance and know that Simjen's and Hedra Iren's power is with them. The gods have not forsaken them.
The raven caws again, and a soldier who happens to look at it chuckles, thinking to himself the raven sounded almost... appreciative.
In better spirits now, the soldiers march on, even daring a snippet of a song or two. Though rumors of the beings marching towards Magiddo grows day by day - from rumors of but a few to rumors of dozens, hundreds of them, a veritable army - the dwarrow Vanguard feels its spirits lifted, for they see the trust of those they meet, and it warms their heart to see that their people are not broken. Daily, Ferax tells them the news of Magoddar - he who is the Prophet of Simjen and can see with the Eye knows much of the land.
Then, one day, the Vanguard's song is brought to a halt as they turn a bend in the road... and there, amidst the snow, lay the crumpled, ruined bodies of a group of travelers. Still half-charred and smoking, the corpses have not been dead for more than a few minutes; the Vanguard suddenly realizes the enemy is far, far closer than they believed. The raven lands on a stumpy tree nearby, as if interested.
"Spread out and assume defense position!" Bellows Ferax, and the soldiers obey; the Prophet and others hurriedly look at the bodies strewn on the snow, looking for signs of life. There, a hand trembles! The Prophet hurries, and sees something that tears his heart. A little dwarrow girl-child, no more than eight perhaps, lies on the ground, horribly burned and wounded. Her breath comes out rasping from the ruins of her throat. A soldier, though hardened by many battles, reeks behind Ferax, but the dwarrow does not care; his remaining eye fills with tears as he looks at the child who - he knows - will not survive more than a few minutes. Would that he could help her somehow!
Yet, she seems aware of him next to her, and she lifts a hand from the blood which rapidly seeps into the snow, a hand which trembles and shakes and will soon grow cold. Wordlessly, Ferax holds the little hand and sheds tears upon her broken body. "I'm sorry, child", he whispers, "rest in peace, and go with Simjen now..." He leans forward and kisses her burned forehead, and the child, with a sigh, lets go of the remnants of her life.
"Enemy approaching!" The voices of the soldiers slowly reach Ferax, who stands slowly, grasping Mjaellar strongly, a grim expression growing on his face. "Prepare yourselves!" He shouts. "Show these abominations what the dwarrows of Magoddar are made of!" Even as the white-hot darkness rises in many shapes around the Vanguard, no dwarrow backs off - they may be surrounded, but their hearts burn with wrath for what has been done to these harmless travelers. Ferax does not heed the taunting words of the darkness; he aims Mjaellar at what seems to be the leader.
"Know this", he says grimly. "Ere the day is done, you and your foul brethren shall be cast off into the void that birthed you. You may be as strong as incandescent steel - but we are the smith's hammer!"
Unseen, the raven lands near the poor child while battle is joined; the shouts, the blood and the rage do not concern it. It pokes lightly at the child's body, almost respectfully, then it lightly walks up to the child's other hand - the one that lay limp and which she did not move in her agony. Delicately, the raven pulls it aside and reveals a single, small crimson rose growing from the snow, hidden beneath the child's hand... a child who had been cut down while she was admiring that very same little rose.

Hail bretheren.
I am willing to enter the mist if need be. As Simjen says however, it need not be rushed.
This turn, I will be supporting Simjens plan with everything I have. I urge everybody to consider Undines message, and where you can best give your aid. If we seek the preservation of Erian we cannot hesitate for time is short.
Once the results of those plans are known, I will enter the mists or not as necessity requires. But first we must join and act together in less drastic attempts to achieve our goals and needs. *bows deeply*

If any know where these minions might be ... let me know!
I am hungry for BATTLE!! And ready for CONQUEST!!
Or, if any of you prefer I stay out of your lands and NOT engage the creatures there, let me know as well ... your wishes will be respected. If you do not respond, I will assume I have your leave. *bows*
