Masters of Science Fiction Limited Anthology on ABC

Post by danlo »

Masters of Science Fiction Hey! I for one will be watching this: great stories great actors. I've never even heard a peep about this anthology which starts tonight on ABC.

Stephen Hawkings narrates this "Twilight Zone" format.
Stories:
A Clean Escape by John Kessel-Sam Waterson/Judy Davis
The Awakening by Howard Fast-Terry O'Quinn (Locke)/Elisabeth Rohm
Jerry Was a Man by Robert Heinlien-Anne Heche/Malcomb McDowell
The Discarded by Harlan Ellison-Brian Dennehy/John Hurt

Looks fantastic, I'm attending a wedding tonight but the DVR will be humming!!! 8) 8)

Hyperception mentioned this to me about a week ago, I thought I had commented on it somewhere on the Watch. I intend to watch too, when I can.

Since we got up at 4:00 AM on Sunday to start our drive to Georgia, we were out cold by the time this came on. No recorders of any type here...

Apparently this is another case of crib death.

They shuttled it into a "death timeslot" and are only showing 4 episodes, and the other two are supposed to be available online, so, I imagine all 6 will be available on-line.

Caught some parts of The Awakening last night, pretty good, very good effects if somewhat predictable. Kinda of a cross between The Thing and Independence Day. O'Quinn impressed, but had me longing for LOST big time. The preview for next week looked wild-with all the different looking beings and grand scale it reminded me of Bank's Look to Windward.

Howard Fast also wrote Spartacus, btw...
