Your favorite 007

Thanks to a discussion recently, I have re-examined my veiw on which actor that has played James Bond is my favorite. The debate is occationally intense and sometimes bloody. To cut to the chase, Connery & Brosnan are my favorites. I enjoyed Roger Moores smart alec routine for most of his run.

Bond 1: Sean Connery ~ 1962-1971
Bond 2: George Lazenby ~ 1969
Bond 3: Roger Moore ~ 1973-1985
Bond 4: Timothy Dalton ~ 1987-1989
Bond 5: Pierce Brosnan ~ 1995-Present
Bond 6. David Niven - Casino Royal.

Well, Connery was the best. Brosnan does it well, too. I really, really liked Moore's early Bond, but I thought he went about two movies too long (should have stopped at Moonraker). I haven't seen the Lazenby movie, but with Telly Savalas as the bad guy Blofeld, it must be at least interesting. I wanted Timothy Dalton to work as Bond; I really did. But he didn't, 'nuff said. But, enough about Bond; let's rate the top ten Bond Women!

1. Jane Seymour - Solitaire. Aye Caramba!
2. Halle Berry - Jinx
3. Barbara Bach - Major Anya Amasova
4. Ursula Andress - Honey Rider
5. Teri Hatcher - Paris Carver
6. Lois Chiles - Holly Goodhead
7. Britt Ekland - Mary Goodnight
8. Denise Richards - Dr. Christmas Jones
9. Michelle Yeoh - Wai Lin
10. Maria Grazia Cucinotta - Cigar Girl

This is, of course, in no particular order; they're all outta my league.

dAN, I see you've done your home work on the Bond girls.
Corinne Clery made an impression on me from Moonrakker and there was something about Carey Lowell from Licence to Kill. I cannot argue with your list though. Nice.

I'll prob show my age here but^

Connery is the only Bond for me Moore was outstanding as The Saint, Lazenby stank and I've never been able to stand Brosnan in anything...

I agree with the Brosnan statement. Personally, I just never cared for any of the Bonds. Sorry, Ian.

Well I like the Bonds and the Bond-girls...
Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore (can I say that here?) is another hot Bond babe... if you can get past the dated theme of Goldfinger.
Suzanne someone that played Tiffany Chase in Diamonds Are Forever is still another hot number... (also remember the brief encounter with the gal named Plenty ("of course you are") O'Toole?)

Connery and Brosnan have my votes for best Bonds. A lot of people love Moore and I liked him in a few but...

he didn't do anything for me.
I agree that Dalton could've done better but he was a tad too serious and didn't do the tongue in cheek lines as good as the others.
Too bad that Brosnan won't be around... there was another list somewhere of future Bonds-men...

How about a speculation on those.

There is a nifty idea. I'd almost have to go with an unknown. Just about eveyone the comes to mind would seem like a parody. I'd have to think about it bit.

Well, Hugh Jackman is being talked about, but I don't know if he has been chosen. Filming starts in about 2 months. I really like the concept of Hugh as 007, but I hope that doesn't mean he'll quit being Wolverine. I hear Halle Berry quit being Storm; I hope they get Beonce to replace her.

Speaking of beautiful women, I'd like to add Elektra King (played by Sophie Marceau) in my list of top 10 Bond girls. I totally underestimated her when initially making my list. Of course, I'm not taking any of the others out of the list.

That idea gets my vote. Jackman is great. I think he'd make a dead on Bond.

Jill St. John (Mrs. Robert (It Takes a Thief) Wagner) played Tiffany Case and Tanya played Stacey Sutton in View to a Kill. I wonder why they never got Raquel Welch back in the day?

-what about Bond villians?

I always thought Dr. No was a weinne but Odd Job, Goldfinger, the big blond Russian guy in from Russia with Love (in the famous train fight scene) Jaws, Christopher Walken (View) and Christopher Lee (Man With the Golden Gun) are some of my favs...

Denise (Mrs. Sheen) played a Dr.? I thought she played Plenty O'Toole...I'm prob wrong...

I really enjoyed Drax as a villain. Plenty O'Toole was played by Lana Wood. Denise was not only a doctor, she was a Nuclear Physicist (!). Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) was an oil tycoon's daughter that makes me wish I were an ice cube.

Has this thread degenerated into a "Ginger vs. Mary-Ann" type debate? I am shocked. Isn't there anything about Bond films that can be discussed here without dragging what hot chick is bouncing about on the screen? For shame!

I'm not aware of anybody debating anything. If so, would there not be a suitable Maryanne to compete with my Ginger? Besides, the only logical reason anybody would pick Maryanne is that they had not the confidence to attempt to court Ginger. Linden? What are you smoking? You don't want a Bond girl that is going to drive you to the depths of madness. I don't however know of a suitable alternative. Elena? Osondrea? Berek's Queen? The First? Probably all babes in their way but we don't have a crystal clear impression of the relative "babeness" of these women.
