A lot happened? WHERE!! *looks around for Turn resultsFist and Faith wrote:*shakes head* A lot happened this afternoon, eh?
Hey, how about P2 and P3 running at the same time? You up to that, Xar?
OK, caam already said she doesn't like this idea, but I think P3 should be powered down. Eiran will almost certainly be destroyed soon. If for no other reason, then through the carelessness of too-powerful deities. It's been less than 6 years Eiran-time, and only 1 for us, and it's already nearly over. So how about raise the numbers for gaining the next DRP? Maybe the 2nd DRP comes at 10,000 followers, the 3rd at 30k, or whatever number works out. 200k followers might only be a 6 DRP rank. It would take longer to achieve goals, and we'd choose what's important to us more carefully. And the world would last longer.

Take LONGER to build DRP ... sheesh!! How 'bout just for whining tree-hugger gods?

I'm against it, only because a full year of one game is about as much as I can tolerate. Otherwise it moves too slow for me.Fist and Faith wrote:*shakes head* A lot happened this afternoon, eh?

On another note, I'll be gone from the 19 through the 23, so If we could have the next turn due at least on the 25, that would be AWSOME. See you all when I get back!

I may be more difficult to reach for awhile. The laptop has a problem with whatever the stem thing is in the back of it that the power cord plugs on to, and it is no longer powering up at all. Which means my only access will be at the library, UF's architecture lab, or the coffee shop with the free computers where I'm at now. At least until we can get the funds together to repair the laptop.
...argh...
...argh...

Not to worry, you'll probably get it fixed before results are in.

Unless the AllFather keeps us waiting until the Winter Solstice (in Earth time, not Eiran time) I doubt that's the case. And who knows if we'll be able to fix it even then?

Hyperception has gotten the laptop up and running for now, using the power cord from Beorn's donated laptop. But, the specs aren't exactly the same, and Beorn will need the laptop for school come Monday, unless he gets the alpha-smart he's supposed to get (if I was chr-stian, I would cross my fingers at this point) right away. So, I have no idea how long this will continue to work, but for now, I have access at home...

Ah, I wondered where you had gone to so early on a Saturday to get online.
Hopefully, Xar will get results posted before Beorn takes the cord away.
Amusingly, I had never considered the thought that crossing one's fingers came from Christianity. I guess it makes sense, though, doesn't it.

No relation. The gesture originates from pre-Christian times and, in many early European cultures, two people were required to use their index fingers to form the sign, one to make a wish and the other to support it. It was believed that the cross was a symbol of unity and that benign spirits dwelt at its intersecting point—to wish on a cross was a figurative way of securing the wish at the intersection until it came true. Over the years, the custom was modified so one person could make a wish on his/her own.

The coffee shop I can go to opens as early as 5:00 am five days a week, and they stay open until around 2:00 am. I don't even know why they bother closing for those three hours.Fist and Faith wrote:Ah, I wondered where you had gone to so early on a Saturday to get online.Hopefully, Xar will get results posted before Beorn takes the cord away.
However, they only have three computers available (although if the laptop was dependable, they also have free wireless access there) for use. Once school is in session, as they are right next door to Beorn's high school, I expect access to those three computers to be a bit more difficult to attain.
