TCTC was *pauses for dramatic effect* an anime.
I'm not really serious, but what would it be like if it existed?

"I'd love to help you, but I'd spill my drink."
*shrug*
I dont think i've ever seen a whole anime cartoon, so im not sure what it would be like.
I'd give it a chance and watch it anyway.

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

Maybe a 'Simpsons' retelling?

Quin, suffering from total amnesia, slowly discovers himself possessed of inexplicable abilities as his world expands...

Or better yet; it could be done 'Peanuts' Style.
In stead of maoning "Hellfire and bloody damnation" Covenant would moan "Good Greif!"
To which someone would reply, "Thomas Covenant, You're a Blockhead!"
Then Moham would show up, clutching his Lord's Blue Blanket, and with some kind words of wisedom, get everybody back on track.

I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

There's a lot more potential comedy here but I'm drawing a blank.

Well since the demise of the movie. Would a Cable channel "Mini-series of the books" be created?
The first three books could be made into ten - 1 1/2 or 2 hours segments. That 15-20 hours of storytelling. With the marketing of DVD as a box set. It could be done over a two year period and each book be shown over a 6 or 7 week period. A intermission period then a continuation
This would allow about all the books contents to be told.

yeah I read that too ..According to SRD in the GI...the Revelstone Entertainment people tried every angle...but no one was bitting.
*however*
that was a while back now - and imo a bit has changed since then ..
those at 'Revelstone Entertainment' should be keeping a close eye on how upcoming fantasy films such as 'Stardust', 'the Golden Compass', 'Bewoulf' and 'Prince Caspian' perform - fantasy is flavour of the month in Hollywood, it's been building that way for a few years now ..
Who would have thought an Iron Man film would've been made say 10 years ago ? no-one. But the success of Spidey and the X-Men means Marvel has a licence to make movies these days ..
The same goes for fantasy; if the aforementioned films are relatively successful then it would be silly of RE not to at least attempt to shop around TCoTC again.
I personally havent given up hope, the original news that the chrons had been optioned seemingly came outta nowhere, and I reckon it's not outside the realms of possibility that we could still one day hear the news that a TC film has been green-lit. Fingers crossed !!
BTW, a high-budget series produced by HBO would be even better than a film or three, the entire story could be told without a need to cram it all into 2.5 hours ..

Seems Ted Turner did Gettsburg and made some profit on VHA & DVD's where it wasn't succesfull on the Big Screen..Balon wrote:I think it would be okay as long as someone with some actually quality and visoon did it.
Mabye Shinichirô Watanabe.
I wonder how much did he make on that?
