Think on that, and be dismayed

Dark Tower: Wolves of the Calla.
450 pages in and going strong.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. Ain't it great?
I spent the last two hundred or so pages of that book sitting cross-legged in a recliner, hunched over it, biting my knuckle. My back hurt the rest of the night, but I think that's one of the greatest highs life has to offer when you find a book that does that to you.

Lovecraft can make you question your sanity at times. Stay up late and sit in a quiet room while you're reading H.P. to get the full effect.

I'm trying to finish the last novella in Elizabeth Hand's latest book, BIBLIOMANCY. Then I'll move onto Lucius Shepard's FLOATER.
