The new one is OK. Give it a C. I hated the ending.

Well, there an hour and a half of my life i wont get back. Awful.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

I'd rather you shot yourself too, but was unaware that was an option until you mentioned it just now. Still, it was an interesting watch the similarities between his Johnny character and his Neo character. Admittedly, 90% of that was due to his lack of acting ability......seriously, Ice T was out-acting him (of course, the dolphin out-acted Ice T)!

Can you believe I saw Johnny Mnemonic in the cinemas? Oh what a waste of time, money, and dignity.

It's movies like the remake of TDtESS that make me want to support abortion... you know, in the cinematic sense, not the "I wish the people that were responsible for this never saw the light of day" sense...that might be too much :P

the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still was very ordinary; the only thing I enjoyed about it was imagining the Gort cgi as applied to a Vain character in the never-to-be TCoTC films ...

The ending was an eco-terrorist's wet-dream.

Having not seen the original, I thought most of the movie was just OK, but I had this nagging feeling in my mind halfway through that the POINT of the movie makers was going to be heavy handed, and I was right.

I puchased the dvd a few days ago, as it was cheap. Watched it later in the night. Well, it seemed to be going well. But the ending was a travesty. I could write an in-depth critique, but I have better things to rant against.

Day the Earth Stood Still receives 2 stars.
