I can see Beta Centauri, so I imagine viewing Antares' companions (t will be easier) won't be too difficult.Damelon wrote:Are you going to try to see Antares' companion, Lore?
Should be an interesting test for your telescope.

There is so very little about the Anniston-Oxford area of Alabama to crow about but for a town of this size we have a fantastic museum.

Anyway, Sue, the T-Rex from the Field Museum will be paying us a brief a visit. Planning on going to see Sue!

Be kind to your web-footed friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother.
HAHA. I can just picture you starting an intergalactic-war because you laser-penned some ET in the eye.Loremaster wrote:Oh, and I'm also using my telescope to look at Jupiter, and Antares. My mirros were aligned perfectly using a handy laser tool I picked up earlier in the week.

Busy, busy weekend.
Had a small diner party last night; Cedar planked Salmon; halibut; shishkabobs..all cooked outdoors on a fire...there was something else we had a lot of...oh yeah! Beer and wine!
Today, I'm renting a Botcat to finally tear down my eyesore of a garage..then I'll be stacking firewood the rest of the day (winter's a commin' you know)
Also have to find someone who knows how to change the springs on the minivan.
I'd like to also fix my Fridge so that the freezer would shut off from time to time.
Other than that, just usualy house stuff...

Funny enough, some kids were using laser pens to try to blind airplane pilots in Australia. I hope that the pens don't get banned.Balon wrote:HAHA. Anyway, there was a storm last night - no sky to watch.

Doing a complete fast (no food or drink, not even water) from 7:30 pm last night until about 8:30 pm tonght, and spending some of the day in shul in prayer.
...and it's all moot anyway...
*sigh*
The tradition is that all your banging on the doors of heaven for forgiveness is moot if you do not set aright your affairs here in the mundane world first.

Tomorrow I have a family lunch. More importantly, however, it will be what is possibly my last session at Pitt Street gym as it is closing down soon. A new, better gym will be opening at some point in the future, but there are a lot of memories there and tomorrow I'm going to give it my all and hopefully add a few more.

Well, won my tennis doubles match this morning. The first set, we sucked badly, 6-2. The other team got really cocky. They were up on us in the early second set, But we came back, got them to a tie break, and beat them to stay in the game. We won the third set easily, and sent them home scratching their heads.. woo hoo!!
