I bought Hail to the Thief around the same time as Kid A, but Kid A stole all my attention. Hail to the Thief just wasn't as gripping. However, I still intend to give it a serious listen. Soon.

Picked up Paul McCartney & Wings' Back to the Egg (remastered edition). Only got it cuz it was a cheap used copy, heh. This album has two of my favorite McCartney tunes: Getting Closer and Old Siam, Sir. It's a nostalgia thing, as those two songs were part of my childhood. Unfortunately, after a listen to the whole CD, I have to say that it's mostly forgettable filler that surrounds the two mentioned favorites. Okay, so one of the tracks is the seasonal favorite Wonderful Christmastime...but it's a bonus track. I'm happy to have the two fav songs in remastered sound, but I feel nothing for the rest of the album.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Well, Hail to the Thief feels like a collection of songs, whereas Kid A presents the more cohesive experience.

To be honest, I only listen to a few cuts on Thief. My favorites: "2+2=5", "Sail to the Moon", "Scatterbrain", "A Wolf at the Door".

Thanks, null.

Right now I'm listening to Black Sea, XTC's 1982 album. Every song on it is brilliant, but I think my favorites are "Towers of London", "Sgt. Rock (Is Going to Help Me)", and "Travels in Nihilon".

Going to close out the night with Todd Rundgren's Hermit of Mink Hollow.

I love that Superman!

Today I have been listening to alot of The Cure - they are an odd mix of absolute genius and very very very mundane!
