I've been going to the theater a lot in the last few weeks and I've seen the trailer for the latest Transformers film The Last Knight each time.

I'm left scratching my head and rolling my eyes every time I see a human shout at the camera "I'm not giving up! I'm going to stay and fight!"

Huh?

Is it just me or have I watched 4 Transformers films that featured human meat bags running around trying to keep from getting squished by giant robots?

What "fighting" if any is an average human teenager going to do exactly? What weapons does one have that does any more than scratch the paint job of one of these giant metallic alien war machines?

If the Autobots and Decepticons weren't fighting each other there would be no conflict. The humans have had and will have NO impact on the outcome because...they're just ineffectual humans with a few helicopters and machine guns that generally get crushed by the robots. Soldiers fire millions of rounds of ammunition, grenades and missiles with little to no effect on the enemy.

"I won't leave you! I will stay and fight!" What the hell does that mean?

Its like a snowflake promising to give battle to an erupting volcano.

I know I'm not supposed to think of the logic of these films because if one did you'd come to the same conclusion I just did.

Maybe I'm just not cut out to be a fan of these films even though I've seen them all for some reason. :-)
