I GOT MY COPY!!! -- 4 days early!!!!

Post by Usivius »

Holy Moly! JUST got a call from Chapter's (the major book seller here in Canada) telling me my copy of the book i ordered was in. Having only ordered one recently (FR to be precise) I has floored! I raced to the store (yes, raced --- only a couple miniutes away from work) and grabbed it! There it was (is), Fatal Revenant!!!!!

Woo HOO!!!!!
I am so happy because we are leaving tonight for two weeks in Ecuador and I knew I wasn't going to have it!!!!

I don't know how this happened since I thought the release date was for OCT 9. .. but ...

THANK YOU CHAPTERS!!!!!

Didn't SRD say he finally had a map that he liked?

Oh no! Don't tell me the map sucks... :( That's one of the big things I've really been looking forward to.

Oh well... the story itself is the important thing! :)

(...wish mine would get here early...)

I also found a copy this morning, at the airport bookstore. Just in time for my flight to Ohio!

What do you mean the map sucks?

Is it worse than the original one by Lynn K. Plagge? (sp?)

That map was pretty basic but got the message across. Splain me!!! (And does it still indicate where Foul's Creche is?)

I agree. The map isn't very good at all.

It's like a simpler version of the Lynn Plagge map. The odd thing is: No one takes credit for the map in the book. There are no initials highlighting who drew the map, and there is nothing on the copyright page nor on the dust jacket. Strange.

I picked up my copies from the book distributor. I technically can't sell them until Tuesday, but at least I get to look at them. :) I'm seeing Stephen on Wednesday or Thursday -- I haven't decided which event to attend. Maybe I'll go to both.

I do happen to like the presentation of the book. I like the cover a bit more now, and I like how the book is layed out.

And I forgot to post: There is no Fou's Creche. Just Hotash Slay.

And the maps don't always (or necessarilly) show the "current" state of things. The names of places are sometimes added in order to give readers a point of reference. Or because they didn't want to change the maps. I think the maps in the Second Chronicles (for the Land) were pretty much the same as before - even though there weren't any forests anymore.

Yeah, absolutely, Romeo. It's just very sad that the book itself is a work of art but the map is not.

Maybe somebody with some Map skills can make a concise map showing everything.

Maybe Donaldson did it. After all, he said he's finally got a map he likes.
