Lucimay, you are gladly welcomed with fealty and honor to the ranks of those who verily acknowledge Truth.

I've never declared myself a Linden lover nor hater. But I suspect if Luci was swayed from being a member of THOOLAH to being a Linden lover, that I will most likely follow suit once I read FR.

All I got to say is that cover art - and that from Runes, is CRAP! I am so glad the editions we have here have completely different covers - all shiny, intricate patterns, not bloody High School - grade drawings of someone who isn't even in the bloody story!

If i saw covers like that I wouldn't even pick up the book - it'd be embarrasing! Have all the Chronicles where you guys are been done in that style?? If so I feel so damn sorry for you!
Forgive my death.

It's a matter of opinion. Personally, I prefer the Sweet covers from 1st and 2nd Chronicles over all others. Also, I like the Whelan cover for ROTE (I'm in the minority on this.)

If that had happened, the look of horror on SRD's face would've been priceless. ;)

But yeah, it would've been a treat to see a new Chronicles cover from Sweet.

Apologies for putting a spoiler in here....wasn't paying attention to which forum, thought an FR cover art thread would be in the FR forums.

Hopefully, that apology will prevent irate moderators with pitchforks and torches from coming after me...or should that be with rukhs and Demondim acid? :)

*if that came across as sarcastic, that's NOT how I meant it.*

Any Sweet fans in Wyoming?
Wyoming artist illustrates sci-fi book jackets

For the next six weeks, science fiction fans can view the artwork of some of their favorite series. The Dahl Arts Center has tapped into the talent of Darrell K. Sweet, illustrator for science fiction writers Piers Anthony, L.D. Modesitt Jr. and Stephen R. Donaldson, to name just a few.

The exhibit, “Sci-Fi & Fantasy: The Cover Art of Darrell K. Sweet,” went on the walls of the Bruce H. Lien Cultural Cafe & Gallery on March 21 and will be displayed until May 3. The 23 acrylic pieces are only a fraction of the artwork Sweet has generated in 30 years as an illustrator. ... [link]
