I stopped by at mine. Asked the girl at the service desk if I could go ahead and get it this evening. She pursed her lips, shook her head no. I started laughing, she started laughing and told me I was crazy! Ah well, got a good laugh at least. :S

When I go back in the morning, I'll take my White Wild Magic Gold ring with me, and see if things change.

Most of the people I talked to seemed offended that I would even ask to buy the book last night. I guess that's a big deal to a book seller. One lady verbally chastised me on the phone - I told her, "Listen, don't hold it against me. I've been waiting 3 years for this book!"

The guy I talked to yesterday at Borders seemed like a bored undergrad who didnt really care or know what he was doing. Thankfully he didnt seem to realize that the book wasnt coming out till today. Ahh, the joys of having apathetic students working at a book store...I hope he's working the next time I'm looking to snatch a book early this year!

Barnes & Noble -1
Borders +1

I went to the local Barnes & Noble last night and couldn't find FR. I asked the guy at the information booth to look it up. He told me it was not released yet (huh?) and to try back in two or three days.

I then drove to the local Borders ... and they had a stand of FR, maybe two dozen, proped up near the front entrance. Yeay!

Now I'm late for work having stayed up late late late reading.

First time I've heard anything about any kind of display set up for FR. Kudos to Borders!
